You Don’t Know Postal... Unless You Read “Did You Know”
While there’s always debate about the Postal Service’s present and future, there is one thing everyone can agree on: it’s a very large and extremely complex organization. Every day the Postal Service picks up, processes, and delivers millions of letters and packages, visiting almost every household in America. The number of processes, procedures, and terminologies used on a day-to-day basis is staggering.
So where is a good place to find out basic information about the Postal Service? The answer is on our Focus Areas section on this very website. Here you can find one of our more popular features Did You Know, where we set out to provide quick answers to common questions you may have about the Postal Service.
Here are some examples of the questions you’ll find answered:
- How are postal rates set?
- How do I report problems with my mail?
- Do my tax dollars pay for the Postal Service?
- How is the Postmaster General selected?
- Where can I find the OIG's work on the Postal Service's network changes?
We also just rolled out some new questions (and answers):
- How has mail volume changed over time?
- What is USPS doing to reduce mail theft?
