Working with our Law Enforcement Partners

Our special agents investigate nationwide internal crimes and fraud committed by postal employees and contractors as well as postal employee misconduct. We work with U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and local prosecutors across the country to prosecute these crimes. 

In some instances, we uncover much larger criminal activity being carried out by multiple individuals and organizations. In many of these cases, we partner with other federal and local law enforcement agencies to identify and hold responsible those who take advantage of the public’s trust in our postal system.

Lynn Man Sentenced for Mail Theft

BOSTON – A Lynn man was sentenced today in federal court in Boston for stealing money from the mail. Juan Murillo, 32, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Allison D. Burroughs to one year of probation and was ordered to pay restitution of $2,400. On Aug. 9, 2022, Murillo pleaded guilty to one count of theft of mail by an employee of the U.S. Postal Service. Lowell Postal Carrier Pleads Guilty to Attempting to Bribe Supervisor to Divert Packages of Cocaine

BOSTON – A Lowell postal worker pleaded guilty yesterday in federal court in Boston to attempting to bribe a postal supervisor and sell them cocaine. John Noviello, of Nashua, N.H., 61, pleaded guilty to one count of bribery of a public official and one count of distribution of cocaine. Canton Woman Pleads Guilty to Theft of Mail by a Postal Employee

Jackson, Miss. – A Canton woman pled guilty to the federal crime of embezzling mail, announced U.S. Attorney Darren J. LaMarca and Scott Pierce, Inspector in Charge of the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General, Southern Area Field Office. Sherice E. Former USPS Employee Sentenced to Over Four Years in Federal Prison for Stealing Nearly $400,000

Bucklew today sentenced Kevin Mark Streeter, Jr. (38, Tampa) to four years and six months in federal prison for conspiracy, receipt of stolen government property, and aggravated identity theft.
