Working with our Law Enforcement Partners

Our special agents investigate nationwide internal crimes and fraud committed by postal employees and contractors as well as postal employee misconduct. We work with U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and local prosecutors across the country to prosecute these crimes. 

In some instances, we uncover much larger criminal activity being carried out by multiple individuals and organizations. In many of these cases, we partner with other federal and local law enforcement agencies to identify and hold responsible those who take advantage of the public’s trust in our postal system.

Jacksonville Contract Postal Carrier Pleads Guilty To Credit Card Fraud And Theft Of Mail Charges

Jacksonville, Florida – United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces that Daniel Diaz Garcia (35, Jacksonville) has pleaded guilty to credit card fraud and theft of mail. He faces up to 10 years in federal prison for the credit card fraud offense, up to 5 years’ imprisonment for the mail theft offense, and payment of restitution to the victims in the case. Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that CHRISTOPHER JUSINO-RODRIGUEZ, 32, of Waterbury, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea in Hartford to 180 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for trafficking cocaine.

NEWARK, N.J. – U.S. Postal Service postmaster was arrested today on a federal civil rights violation for sexually assaulting a victim while acting under color of law and assaulting the victim, a federal employee, during the course of her official duties, U.S. Attorney Philip R. ST. LOUIS – A former U.S. Postal Service mail carrier on Monday admitted stealing rebates from mail intended for residents of north-central Missouri. Dawn Dowling, 59, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to one felony count of embezzlement of mail by a Postal Service employee. Dowling admitted that from July 2023 to August 2023, she took rebates issued by the home improvement store Menards from the mail.
