How do U.S. postal prices compare to other countries?

Record levels of inflation and additional pricing authorities have led to notable increases in the price of sending a letter in the United States. In a recent report, we studied how those increases compared to 30 other countries. We found that U.S. stamp prices increased at a slower pace than most other posts in our sample. We also found the 2023 U.S. First-Class Mail Stamp price was less expensive than 26 of the 30 countries. Some countries prices are significantly higher — four countries had stamp prices that were 3 times the price of the U.S. stamp.
