You probably have heard a lot recently about the pandemic and other issues causing problems with mail delivery, with some people saying it takes weeks for packages and letters to arrive. Maybe you even experienced problems yourself. Maybe you’ve been getting your mail on time and wondering what all the complaints are about.

Did you ever wish you could get a better understanding of how the Postal Service is doing across the country? Well, now you can. We recently launched a new service performance webpage that includes an interactive map displaying quarterly data on the Postal Service’s service performance around the country.

You can filter the data by time period, geography, mail class, or service standard. Want to see on-time performance for presorted First-Class Mail that is supposed to be delivered in two days? You can. Maybe you’re interested in focusing on Marketing Mail in New York? You can filter the map to see that also.

We will continue to update this page quarterly as the Postal Service releases new data. The interactive map is not all the website features; it also functions as a one-stop-shop for all the OIG’s published and upcoming work on service performance. So, take a look and tell us what you think

Over the past 3 months, we have had more of our first-class mailings go missing than in the previous 10 years combined. We started using stamps.com to mail our fabric samples by first class mail, so that bar codes would be printed and hopefully speed up delivery. We now have had to mail out replacement samples at least once a week because our customers never receive their first ones. We depend on people getting their samples in a timely manner so that they can make a decision on purchasing. It reflects badly on us when they have to ask twice and I am sure we have lost sales because of this. What is going on? Is there something amiss with stamps.com (they say no)? Are USPS machines not reading the bar codes correctly? Should I go back to addressing by hand? I'm at my wits end. Thanks, Diane

USPS delivered a box whose top had been broken so the label was ripped, and the bottom cut open, but then refolded/tucked so it would hold the contents. There was a handbag shipped in the box, with 2 small packets tucked in the handbag at the time it was shipped. the small packets were in the box but the handbag had been stolen. i waited in 3 different post office lines over 3 hours to get some resolution and was sent from one office to the other, only to be told it was the senders fault because it wasn't "packaged' properly. whether it was packaged proprly or not does not give the USPS to steal the contents of a box!!!! was finally told to file a claim on USPS.com. Really upset about this theft - its not ok that USPS be allowed to steal with no repercussions. There needs to be an investigation because if this person stole once, they're stealing again and again.

Yes, I order my breathing meds through a Canadian pharmacy that directs it to the overseas manufacturers. The recent shipment received at end of September was so mangled I contacted Canada who confirmed that the shipment was in perfect condition when it left Singapore. The damage was caused after the carton reached the United States airport to be transfered to USPS for delivery. It’s bad enough that USPS takes an unusually extended delivery time on everything but the condition of this carton was the worst I have ever received one of my medication refills. I am so fed up with USPS but I know this is widespread here in the U. S. This is not acceptable!

unless that pharmacy can verify that the package was intact when it was loaded onto the aircraft or ship that brought it over, they can't "confirm" that the package was intact when it left Singapore.

Looks like delivery the package is an option for you. I lost 2, several go-to out of the map for weeks. You don't treat each parcell as a contract that need to be fulfilled you just work on big numbers and if some got lost who cares.... you have so many customers that you don't need all of them happy. start paying for your errors...tou are not making a favour. You are a shame and your justifications make the thing even worse. Start working as is supposed to be...so as simple.

Where should I start with so many unfortunate choices? Hmmm...the rest of us can't fail so miserably at our jobs, blame covid (here's your related comment per the request in red:), and continue getting paid. Hey, here's a good one..."delivery attempted"... in my case, it's a lie. Every time I receive such a message in lieu of my package(s) is literally a lie. I know. I can prove it. I call appropriate numbers and I inform & complain. I write emails...blah, blah, blah....inform/complain. I get the cheap excuse/form letter saying the issue has been remedied. My own small town post mistress (95684) with her puffed up willingness to abuse the power she wields is complained about often...she has followed me outside to my vehicle screaming and thrown my mail through a passenger window hitting my mouth with my mail...I inform/complain to superiors and what happens a few months ago? She (my abuser)[] calls MY HOME (I can prove this) even though no longer the post mistress and leaves no voicemail. I did not solicit a call from her nor my local post office. In my continued wasted efforts to simply get the things belonging to me, I again attempt requesting redelivery - your website insists my email address is "invalid" and now I suppose I will NEVER get my things. I cannot call like a normal person because I fear more attacks...Even if only verbal the next time. The icing on my cake is they will keep my items WAY PAST the date they originally claimed they would return them....up to two months historically! And this successfully ties up my money preventing me from a timely refund until their mood changes/they grow bored/find another victim/whoever is inspiring this treatment of my things has also provided me company...read the reviews, I am not alone. In the past few weeks alone, 12+ items never reached me after I paid for them. Even the lady from the Office of the Inspector General said there was nothing she could do about the postmistress striking me angrily with my own mail. And yes, she said this AFTER I informed her of the physical attack on me and the oddity of that same abusive person calling my home from her HOME PHONE NUMBER occured and I pointed out the obvious PRIVACY BREACH within that tiny post office where only a few people work....I was told nothing could be done. I get no packages. I get no redelivery. I get no apology. I get no recourse. I simply lose. I have lived in this town for 17 years....and I once received large, heavy packages delivered to my home....incidentally, the same location now occasionally claimed to not be a safe place to leave my things. Or was it my "mail box is too small"? Actually the majority of excuses are not excuses....they are blatant lies claiming "delivery was attempted". They know I live across the street from my mailbox as I have offered this information in a clear, ongoing manner, they have successfully delivered to me multiple times in the past and less than 1 year ago. But now? Who really knows why this is happening or who can change it? I have tapped every resource I have found to assist me in getting my things delivered. Still-no progress. By the way, in the past when I requested redelivery this website never rejected my email address with its current claim of absent validity. It's definitely a conundrum (at best.)

Organize a sting with people in your community. Order something very large from wherever and track it down to its delivery day. There is a 99% chance your carrier refuses to even load it into their vehicle so they’ll write the tracking number down, wait until they are remotely near your dress, feed the tracking number into their scanner, and scan as ………… anything but delivered. Point is, customers are a joke to this company. I am fortunate in that my carrier is dead honest with me regarding all of the shenanigans that takes place at local Chicago post office. They average one $80k a year supervisor for every 5 to 7 employees in the city of Chicago. They need to go private and give up a few days of garbage mail delivery in order to deliver packages the right way like every other company

Station at Crenshaw 90008 does not pick up even when scheduled. They lose packages that arrive at the PO Box and are marked as “ready for pickup” and 1 out of 3 times, they don’t even attend you at the pickup window. Please change this.

On a good day the Los Angeles district can man just over half of its routes. The service is trying to hire if you are interested. Any problem from no supervisor reporting for early morning duty who has the codes to open up the computer and print out the emails alerting the carrier that he has a pick up. To lack of carriers to prepare a vacant route thus that mail with the email alert is left in the station pending someone to prep it. will stop someone even knowing that their is a pick up out there. If a carrier is actually delivering that route with a pick up on the scheduled day, vacant routes due to broken bones, retirements and COVID family leave as dictated by federal law will see a remaining healthy carrier on his 8th to 12th working hours on any given day rotate to half of it every 3 days or so. No matter what you do or who is the boss it is physically impossible for 20 carriers to service 40 routes. At 30 routes you run out of man hours. Delivering parcels, because of the medications for our veterans and the dead baby chicks from the 2020 newscast get priority.

Our courier won't even deliver packages anymore. They just leave a slip that says no Redelivery and require you to go to the Post Office to pick it up. We even have parcel lockers in our complex and they won't use those anymore. Thinking about going to get a box at the UPS Store. I stopped ordering everything online that ships with USPS.

I appreciate that USPS is in difficult circumstances re Covid - but so is Australia Post. The difference is that USPS has no sensible mechanism to provide feedback, other than the laughable suggestion that you file a complaint by email. I have done so on several recent occasions - at best, a form letter response. At worst, no response at all. Here's an example: We sent a small parcel from Atlanta to Canada. It spent two weeks in Miami, then two weeks in Jacksonville... then was returned to Atlanta. The official response: "There was no issue, try re-sending the parcel". No apology, no refund, no explanation. That may be acceptable in the USA as an adequate response. In Australia, that would merit a flogging. Appalling.

With respect, this response is just another form letter. I have no confidence that contacting the PSCAO will be anything other than a waste of my time: I will receive another form letter, this time with some form of apology relating to Covid. I may even get 'escalated'. Will I ever find out what happened for a month while the package toured Florida? No. Will USPS have the decency to refund the cost? Probably not. Will I get an answer (or any action) regarding another parcel that was accepted by the College Park Post Office in Atlanta on Sept 2nd... and is still sitting there, no closer to its destination in Nashville (250 miles away), as of 22nd of Sept. ? I presume everyone is doing their best, in trying circumstances... but that's not good enough. You're charging for a service, but seem incapable of performing it - and worse, have no effective remediation process when it all goes wrong. Please provide a telephone number so I can speak to a human being.

Why are we paying the SAME price for 2-3 Priority Mail, when it now takes 7-10 days? Why does the USPS even have a tracking system at all? It's always wrong and utterly useless. They sent me two texts on Thursday telling me that my package was on time and would arrive on Friday. On Friday morning, I checked, and all it said was that it was running late, but still would arrive, eventually. No location, no updated ETA. NOTHING. So, my Priority Mail package that should have arrived Wednesday or Thursday won't arrive until AFTER the Monday holiday. Most likely next THURSDAY (based on the last 12 times I have been screwed) That's TEN days for a package that was supposed to arrive 1-3 days, according to their advertising and the price I paid.

I live in Fayetteville, NC and I am no longer receiving my mail. I see the worker at our boxes daily. Sometimes twice a day on weekends. However over the past 2 weeks I have not received ANY mail. Which is unusual considering my contract company is located out of state and sends packets quite often. I dont even get the coupon flyers or any other junk mail anymore. What gives?! Im tempted to talk to the postal worker. I can't miss important items from my employer. Especially since we are all on an alternating work from home or from our government offices.

I’m lost at this point. 9 months ago my wife and I move prior to this we never have had problems with usps. We moved to Texas for 3 months cause of work then came back to California 95129. We did change of address both times and made sure to update our addresses with our banks and etc. well since moving back 9 months ago we dont receive mail . Especially my wife . Even though we have updates out addresses with our bank and etc she doesn’t receive mail . 3 time in March requested a new debt card never was delivered. Only one time it was showed scanned on the informed delivery but it never showed . We thought maybe someone was stealing our mail from our gated community/ locked mail box but that wasn’t the case. We had the lock changed and still no fix . So we went to the local post office they said nothing we can do said to leave . I called the usps hotline was told nothing we can do . So now 9 months since our move we are not receiving mail . We even tried a hold mail at the post office and they told us nothing was being delivered there . So where is it going ? Our bank and other places we receive mail from all told us there are not getting the mail sent back to them . So where is it going ? I need someone to get ahold of me . every complaint / requested I have submitted has gone un answered . I am in contacts with retaining a lawyer help me with the matter . Please I am lost .

I do not know what is going on with my postal office locally but they are not delivering my mail in a timely fashion and much of it never comes. I have several subscriptions to magazines that never get to me and other mail I always received regularly. I am not even getting any flyers or junk mail either. I used to receive at least five pieces of mail a day. Then what mail I do get if often damaged or soaking wet on rainy days. Some days we also don't get our mail until after 9pm. Is this because I complained before about this that it's getting worse and not better? I do know the regular mail person takes all kinds of "gifts" from people for special delivery into their homes for packages while those who can't afford to gift don't get the same service. I am sick of it.

On regular basis 21043 USPS does not deliver sensitive financial documents. We had cases when our mail was delivered to neighbors and mail from far away properties delivered to our mail box. I am pretty sure some strangers already know all our financial background NO thanks to USPS. We are not like millenials and don't live with our faces glued to the phones, trying to stay off the internet when we can, so we rely on paper delivery. I guess everyone in the country just has to dump USPS service at the first opportunity, because this USPS is not working for us, but for some crooks who are given our PII and financial info on the silver plate. What a shame that all of this has turned into!

I am quite unhappy with the postal service where I live. Immensely saddened by the delay, loss and constant misdelivery of mail. My credit card has been stolen. Drivers license “lost” till I told a neighbor and then it miraculously appeared next day as with a lot of time sensitive mail. The postman has been changed from that incident. It has started again. Some how the unstamped mail dated letters end up getting to me 3 weeks late! One thing I have noticed for certain is that informed delivery mails are not constant! The time received varies through out the day and on calling it in I was informed that “ no one knows where it’s scanned”! This was not the case 3-4 months ago informed delivery mails reached the mail box at 8:30 am no later than 9:00 am. Now it’s as late as 3:00 pm. I have reason to believe that some how mail has been tampered with by neighbors in cohorts with a postal employee (sad to say). Mail seems to be reopened n sealed. Medicines are always delivered to the wrong address! Please I am tired of complaint and hitting a brick wall with every one pointing a finger at every one else. Please feel free to contact me - also if you look into my account you shall see the numerous complaints filed. Thank you A

USPS has become one of it not the most incompetent parcel delivery service in USA. They try to use covid as an excuse but their service has been terrible for the last 3-4 years. Local employees do a fine job, however sorting facilities have become trash. I suspect the issue is that all of the older workers have retired/been replaced by the younger generation & the younger generation is incapable of doing a competent job.

I absolutely agree with you. 12 years and no issues till we got a younger girl. She won’t deliver anything that requires her to drive in the driveway or walk to our porch to leave it. She is real good at writing those orange slips and placing them in the mailbox. She should win a participation trophy for that.

Today, Aug 16, 2021, my cousin in Port Chester New York received a card returned in the mail that she had sent to me on February 9, 2021. I live in Connecticut and the envelope was addressed correctly, including the zip-code +4. She took a photo of the envelope-it was marked ANK-Attempted Not Known. That is so false, I have lived at this address continually since 1985. it is a small town. In recent months my magazine subscriptions have gone missing, there are times when I don't get any mail for days, then it gets delivered in a clump. Sometimes my cameras do not show the truck go by at all. The mail used to be delivered regularly at about 12:30, now it is anytime from 12:00 to 6:00pm. I can understand changes in delivery times depending on weather and volume, but to not be recognized as a valid person with a valid address is disturbing. I have checked my address with the USPS checking system, it says the address is good, so why is my mail going missing or being returned to sender?

I have been told I can't recieve a refund unless they loose the package. Regular envelope mail has been taking 2 weeks to get to another county.. literally 40 miles away.... I feel like I am basically being robbed.. they are collecting the money for a two day or 3 day shipping but not delivering it in the expected time frame that it should be with that paid postage.

I experience the same problem and am at a loss of what to do! What's really annoying is when you think you're paying for UPS and it turns out to be SurePost....always ends up at post office. After 25 years of no issues with package deliveries, the new driver can not back out of my drive and will not leave packages that do not fit into standard mailbox (NOTE: UPS, Fed-Ex and fill in USPS driver have no issues leaving packages at gate). I spoke with the local supervisor and she suggested I leave the gate open so driver can turn around since for some reason the drive is now too long to back out (again even UPS, Fed-Ex and fill in USPS driver have no issues). Opening the gate is not as easy as sounds since I have several dogs that need to be secured. The package slips all indicate 'no-turnaround' but they are officially filed as 'no secure location'. The latest package I scheduled a redelivery, received confirmation and opened the gate and still NO PACKAGE. Two days later I got an email indicating it had been delivered to front door/porch? When I filed a missing package claim this is the response I received from the supervisor: "The parcel in question is still at the Harriman Post Office. The parcel was accidentally scanned when setting up a new scanner. The redeliver request can not be followed as there is no safe turnaround at your gate. The parcel will be available here at the post office for your pick up." SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?

There are 3 normal reasons for false "stop the clock" scans. Normally the station ran out of carrier man hours, everyone worked the limit of 12 hours that day and pieces still could not be gotten to. Next the piece is too heavy for the carrier on the route. Management can try to say you should be able to lift it if you want to work here but it is still to heavy and the carrier can make a safety claim. The least likely but also happens is that the piece is too long and just doesn't fit the standard postal vehicle and the drivers of vehicles with longer cargo bays have run out of potential work hours before they could detour to deliver outsized pieces. In each case the path of least resistance from the next level of management is to stop the clock with a false attempted scan.

I think the Post Office in Del Rio, TX is the worst I have ever encountered. USPS is horrible in dealing with rural communities, and Del Rio no exception. They continue to accept payment from Amazon and other companies to ship to customers; however, have no intent to deliver these packages to the customer's home (which is what was paid for). For in town customers they do offer such service but they continue to cause chaos for customers who live even just outside the city. In addition to not delivering packages you are now forced to go into the worst Post Office in existence to try and "pick up" the packages you paid to be delivered. The personnel in Del Rio are unprofessional, rude, and care free when it comes to customer service. The line is too long and the training, management, and culture of this Post Office is unacceptable. USPS needs to have a higher standard and sense of pride. Perhaps USPS management can reach out to ChicK-fil-A for some advise on customer service and efficiency, and maybe contact UPS on how to deliver packages to someone's actual home. For those of you with these same issues, hang in there and keep the pressure on USPS to make changes and actually provide the services they are being paid for.

I am a 70 yo senior citizen and super frustrated and victimized by incredible rudeness and verbal abuse by the Jensen Beach , FL USPS branch. The case is that I sent a certified mail from Jensen Beach, FL to St Petersburg, FL on 7/14/2021 and by 7/28/2021, the USPS tracking system after 2 weeks continued showing "in transit" and "arriving late" messages, had no indication of the physical location of the certified letter. The certified letter was also with a signature and receipt request. When I was there at the branch, I was not allowed to talk to the Post Master at all as requested. When presenting the case to a Jensen Beach postal worker , another rude and abusive postal worker named Dereck interrupted my explanations, and rudely, not allowing me to explain at all the event involving my certified letter (over 2 weeks lost in transit and ) apparently lost and not able to be tracked by the system. They do not know where the certified letter is. I explained to Dereck that I just wanted to know what are the procedures to follow in circumstances like that regarding a certified letter not arriving to the destination and after 14 days. He told me rudely and with abusive language and gestures that it "was not his problem to handle" a case like that and that the destination USPS branch facility (or St Petersburg) was the only one to talk to and not them in Jensen Beach. I explained that I certified and sent it in Jensen Beach where I physically reside. During our verbal interaction, another postal worker ( a woman) rudely interrupted and escalated our conversation and started screaming and yelling at me asking me to leave the premises "or they will be calling the police" with some type of abusive intimidation technique with blatant threats to call police on me ( but for what reason?). I felt that I was at the mercy of a pack of savage wolfs ready to eat me alive. My main concern is now how this group of unethical and rude postal workers are allowed to work there and blatantly abuse a senior citizen and even intimidate the senior citizen customer that is going thru a serious service issue created by the USPS system. The lack of respect and lack of human sensitivity and humanity is incredible in that branch, including the post master that openly allows an escalation of that behavior toward a senior citizen customer without proper behavioral ethics, considerations and sensitivity. Without customers, there is no USPS. Without my federal taxes, there is no USPS. This case is clearly senior citizen abuse and or elderly abuse. The employees unethically and unprofessionally violated the Florida laws that protect senior citizens over 70 yo. Seniors is an industry in Florida. Very disappointed with the USPS! I will not recommend the USPS to friends and family after this experience.

Super frustrated. I had a priority package arrive and depart the Shreveport LA Distribution Center on 6/4/2021 and then apparently just disappeared. I opened two search inquiries and both were closed, opened a missing mail search, called the 800 number, called Consumer Affairs and all for nothing. I don't understand. Nobody cares just says "It's lost." Out $360.00 and the USPS can't be held responsible for losing my package.

My package tracking also stops at Shreveport. It's an item I sold on ebay--first class so if lost I won't be able to file a claim:( My case was also closed with no explanation. In addition, last month I did not receive a package I was waiting for. Tracking said it arrived at my city's post office but was never delivered. Went in person and they said it was basically lost. Ebay seller was nice enough to send me a replacement. Now I have another item I sold that has been "stuck" in Shreveport for 2 days--I'm so worried it will not arrive either! I do understand that due to pandemic they are maybe understaffed, so mail might be slow. But how do packages just get lost? Frustrating:(

USPS package sent from NY on 29 May 2021. Teetered about in NY for 4/5 days before making its way to USPS Miami facility. Supposedly left the Miami facility for the Cayman Islands on June 8 2021 (the flight to Grand Cayman is approximately 1 hour). Package has not arrived in the Cayman Islands to date. I've been told by a rep that the package was low priority (unbelievable) and does not have tracking for the international leg which was not communicated to the person sending the package. No one can tell me where the package is. The option chosen was for the package to reach to its destination within 5-10 business days and its now been 2 months thus far. How difficult is it for someone on the ground to check where the package is? Surely there are checks and balances to see where and when a package leaves a facility and to determine who signed off on it especially if it is exiting the country (customs??). Interestingly the local post office here was able to confirm that the package has been scanned twice since it supposedly left the facility in Miami so something clearly went wrong somewhere, 2 months and still waiting. Extremely disappointed and will definitely not recommend USPS to friends and family.

I have always trusted the mail service, I don't trust doing business online, but I may be forced to do so. I mailed my payment to Commenity Bank on June 19th. When I received this months bill I had a $29 late fee. When I checked my bank records the payment had never been delivered. Not only did this cost me money, it puts a back mark on my credit rating. If I can no longer trust the mail service I will have to start doing business online.

I have been trying to get a replacement mailbox key and website instructs me to fill out a form 1094 and pay fee. Then after searching for the form on the USPS website, it is not listed. Then when you search the help menu it directs you to call the local post office, which I have been trying to call for two days and the phone is busy. For the sake of God why is this so difficult.

I filed a priority mail missing package report and was told it was "somewhere in the distribution system" and that it "would be delivered sometime." I was also informed that no mail is guaranteed to be delivered. Why spend money getting priority mail when it is not going to come in 3-5 days or ever!

Accountable mail and endorsed packages for return are sitting in the 23225 office well beyond the return window. Some currently dating back to May 2021. I believe an audit needs to take place as this is poor customer service, the clerks are not doing their jobs, and Management does nothing to rectify it.

This is as close of topic I could find to ask this question. For 30 years I have lived at the same address, and always received the weekly grocery flyers on Tuesday. I also had the same postman for nearly all that period. Since he retired, we've had numerous postal issues. I was told it was considered a 'training' route now. OK, I can understand some adjustment period. As well as pandemic issues recently. But we've had the same delivery person for a year or so now, so the training should be done. And yet, most weeks I don't receive the flyers until Thursday, and in some cases Friday. And instead of having the mail before noon, now it's often 7, 8 p.m. or later. So 8pm Friday is not a good time to check for Friday only sales, or Weds-Friday sales. I could believe the publisher or store didnt have the material ready on time. But ALL the stores? Little things make big differences to customers.
