You probably have heard a lot recently about the pandemic and other issues causing problems with mail delivery, with some people saying it takes weeks for packages and letters to arrive. Maybe you even experienced problems yourself. Maybe you’ve been getting your mail on time and wondering what all the complaints are about.

Did you ever wish you could get a better understanding of how the Postal Service is doing across the country? Well, now you can. We recently launched a new service performance webpage that includes an interactive map displaying quarterly data on the Postal Service’s service performance around the country.

You can filter the data by time period, geography, mail class, or service standard. Want to see on-time performance for presorted First-Class Mail that is supposed to be delivered in two days? You can. Maybe you’re interested in focusing on Marketing Mail in New York? You can filter the map to see that also.

We will continue to update this page quarterly as the Postal Service releases new data. The interactive map is not all the website features; it also functions as a one-stop-shop for all the OIG’s published and upcoming work on service performance. So, take a look and tell us what you think

    I think the Post Office in Del Rio, TX is the worst I have ever encountered. USPS is horrible in dealing with rural communities, and Del Rio no exception. They continue to accept payment from Amazon and other companies to ship to customers; however, have no intent to deliver these packages to the customer's home (which is what was paid for). For in town customers they do offer such service but they continue to cause chaos for customers who live even just outside the city. In addition to not delivering packages you are now forced to go into the worst Post Office in existence to try and "pick up" the packages you paid to be delivered. The personnel in Del Rio are unprofessional, rude, and care free when it comes to customer service. The line is too long and the training, management, and culture of this Post Office is unacceptable. USPS needs to have a higher standard and sense of pride. Perhaps USPS management can reach out to ChicK-fil-A for some advise on customer service and efficiency, and maybe contact UPS on how to deliver packages to someone's actual home. For those of you with these same issues, hang in there and keep the pressure on USPS to make changes and actually provide the services they are being paid for.

    I am a 70 yo senior citizen and super frustrated and victimized by incredible rudeness and verbal abuse by the Jensen Beach , FL USPS branch. The case is that I sent a certified mail from Jensen Beach, FL to St Petersburg, FL on 7/14/2021 and by 7/28/2021, the USPS tracking system after 2 weeks continued showing "in transit" and "arriving late" messages, had no indication of the physical location of the certified letter. The certified letter was also with a signature and receipt request. When I was there at the branch, I was not allowed to talk to the Post Master at all as requested. When presenting the case to a Jensen Beach postal worker , another rude and abusive postal worker named Dereck interrupted my explanations, and rudely, not allowing me to explain at all the event involving my certified letter (over 2 weeks lost in transit and ) apparently lost and not able to be tracked by the system. They do not know where the certified letter is. I explained to Dereck that I just wanted to know what are the procedures to follow in circumstances like that regarding a certified letter not arriving to the destination and after 14 days. He told me rudely and with abusive language and gestures that it "was not his problem to handle" a case like that and that the destination USPS branch facility (or St Petersburg) was the only one to talk to and not them in Jensen Beach. I explained that I certified and sent it in Jensen Beach where I physically reside. During our verbal interaction, another postal worker ( a woman) rudely interrupted and escalated our conversation and started screaming and yelling at me asking me to leave the premises "or they will be calling the police" with some type of abusive intimidation technique with blatant threats to call police on me ( but for what reason?). I felt that I was at the mercy of a pack of savage wolfs ready to eat me alive. My main concern is now how this group of unethical and rude postal workers are allowed to work there and blatantly abuse a senior citizen and even intimidate the senior citizen customer that is going thru a serious service issue created by the USPS system. The lack of respect and lack of human sensitivity and humanity is incredible in that branch, including the post master that openly allows an escalation of that behavior toward a senior citizen customer without proper behavioral ethics, considerations and sensitivity. Without customers, there is no USPS. Without my federal taxes, there is no USPS. This case is clearly senior citizen abuse and or elderly abuse. The employees unethically and unprofessionally violated the Florida laws that protect senior citizens over 70 yo. Seniors is an industry in Florida. Very disappointed with the USPS! I will not recommend the USPS to friends and family after this experience.

    Super frustrated. I had a priority package arrive and depart the Shreveport LA Distribution Center on 6/4/2021 and then apparently just disappeared. I opened two search inquiries and both were closed, opened a missing mail search, called the 800 number, called Consumer Affairs and all for nothing. I don't understand. Nobody cares just says "It's lost." Out $360.00 and the USPS can't be held responsible for losing my package.

    USPS package sent from NY on 29 May 2021. Teetered about in NY for 4/5 days before making its way to USPS Miami facility. Supposedly left the Miami facility for the Cayman Islands on June 8 2021 (the flight to Grand Cayman is approximately 1 hour). Package has not arrived in the Cayman Islands to date. I've been told by a rep that the package was low priority (unbelievable) and does not have tracking for the international leg which was not communicated to the person sending the package. No one can tell me where the package is. The option chosen was for the package to reach to its destination within 5-10 business days and its now been 2 months thus far. How difficult is it for someone on the ground to check where the package is? Surely there are checks and balances to see where and when a package leaves a facility and to determine who signed off on it especially if it is exiting the country (customs??). Interestingly the local post office here was able to confirm that the package has been scanned twice since it supposedly left the facility in Miami so something clearly went wrong somewhere, 2 months and still waiting. Extremely disappointed and will definitely not recommend USPS to friends and family.

    I have always trusted the mail service, I don't trust doing business online, but I may be forced to do so. I mailed my payment to Commenity Bank on June 19th. When I received this months bill I had a $29 late fee. When I checked my bank records the payment had never been delivered. Not only did this cost me money, it puts a back mark on my credit rating. If I can no longer trust the mail service I will have to start doing business online.

    I have been trying to get a replacement mailbox key and website instructs me to fill out a form 1094 and pay fee. Then after searching for the form on the USPS website, it is not listed. Then when you search the help menu it directs you to call the local post office, which I have been trying to call for two days and the phone is busy. For the sake of God why is this so difficult.

    I filed a priority mail missing package report and was told it was "somewhere in the distribution system" and that it "would be delivered sometime." I was also informed that no mail is guaranteed to be delivered. Why spend money getting priority mail when it is not going to come in 3-5 days or ever!

    Accountable mail and endorsed packages for return are sitting in the 23225 office well beyond the return window. Some currently dating back to May 2021. I believe an audit needs to take place as this is poor customer service, the clerks are not doing their jobs, and Management does nothing to rectify it.

    This is as close of topic I could find to ask this question. For 30 years I have lived at the same address, and always received the weekly grocery flyers on Tuesday. I also had the same postman for nearly all that period. Since he retired, we've had numerous postal issues. I was told it was considered a 'training' route now. OK, I can understand some adjustment period. As well as pandemic issues recently. But we've had the same delivery person for a year or so now, so the training should be done. And yet, most weeks I don't receive the flyers until Thursday, and in some cases Friday. And instead of having the mail before noon, now it's often 7, 8 p.m. or later. So 8pm Friday is not a good time to check for Friday only sales, or Weds-Friday sales. I could believe the publisher or store didnt have the material ready on time. But ALL the stores? Little things make big differences to customers.

    In our subdivision (85295 Gilbert Arizona), we constantly are having to reach out on our Subdivision facebook page to locate our own packages! It is always USPS that puts in the wrong mailbox, never receive my packages at the right front door. My neighbor just delivered a package again to me that was delivered to her front porch. Our addresses are on the porch were the packages are left, so no excuses on that. However the boxes are numbered and I know that can be confusing but if it is this HUGE of a problem where daily we are having all of us neighbors dropping packages and mail at each others house, then something NEEDS to be done!

    Not receiving very important bills, and bills mailed 3 weeks ago from south central Pennsylvania to go to close to Philadelphia and reading , Pennsylvania are still not there after 3-4 weeks! Contacted local post office there no help. Where are our bills going and whose to blame. Don’t trust postal service at all will paying bills at locations in person ,hell with postal service. And they want more postal increases. No!,,,, July 2021. Pandemic is almost over.

    We were told an IRS refund check would be mailed on May 7. We are having our mail forwarded to a Michigan address. This usually adds a week to the delivery time. Now it is the 29th of June and no check. Very disappointed in the U.S. Mail

    This is not a complaint but a compliment! I want to commend, compliment, & most of all thank our weekly mail carrier, Tracy Sutton,for being very thorough, friendly, & on the ball with her job!!!! She is an amazing person,mom,& worker for the USPS! I hope yall keep her working at the CARBON HILL, AL post office! We recently have been having a problem with receiving our mail. At times we have either recieved it a month late or two pieces in one envelope. Someone said they believed it was her doing it. I have known her since we went to school together (1984) & knew that was false. I signed up for informed delivery & informed the person who had said this. That person seemed to be very upset I did this. I knew right then the mail would get to us on a timely matter. If it continues to be a problem we plan on reporting the person(s) before they have a chance to make a false accusation against Tracie. Keep up the great work Tracie and know that we love ya and have never nor would ever think you would do us wrong!!!!

    Nearly every package I have incoming to my residence is late well beyond what it should be! The pandemic is no longer a reason not to have better customer service! It is now an excuse! In a typical business if you cant deliver on a promised product you find away to make sure your customers are taken care via refund or some sort of offer to compensate your patrons for the lack of service you provide. If you cant deliver on what you promise you should lower your rates. The more I pay to have a product shipped the more I expect. I have had now approximately 7 time sensitive mail deliveries arrive late because of the USPS. On was a fathers day gift for my father that arrived damaged by the USPS. Its time for you all to stop this nonsense either you should lower your rates to match the lack of performance you are delivering or figure out how to get people their packages on time! Maybe you should sub contract Fedex or UPS they seam to be getting it done or maybe its time to look at the leadership in the USPS system fire a couple of them and I bet things will change making a 300k plus salary and delivering a 10K salary service doesn't cut it!

    Three weeks for a properly labeled "priority box" to travel from Philadelphia (19457) to southeast Michigan (48111). According to google maps, it would take 22 days to walk the package if one were to walk 8 hours a day. The sender's business and I are both fully now on the avoid USPS bandwagon. USPS is beyond repair.

    I mailed a 2 lb. package in Lihue HI 5/29/2021 going to Shanghai China Priority Mail International at $81.00. It has been in the USPS system for nearly a month. Hasn't left the US yet. Went to Honolulu, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Detroit. Was notified package left Detroit 6/18 and ALSO 6/21. How can THAT be? Service is beyond DEPLORABLE. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER use USPS to mail anything ever again. No excuses. Pandemic, no pandemic, this is beyond explanation that a package going to Asia from Hawaii would spend 3 weeks on the east coast and Midwest.Don't expect to raise rates. People will find ways around using the postal service altogether. Personally, I lived decades without Sunday delivery and now we have them? Why? DO we need to get our junk mail on Sundays? It's just a ruse to ask for a raise in postal rates. USPS is beyond terrible.

    I worked mail in Iraq as a contractor and while in the Army years before so I have some idea about mail. For the last year in the US I have had priority mail lost, poor info/assistance from my local Post Office and many letters taking weeks to arrive (in the US) or not at all. As far as I am concerned the USPS motto should be your article may get there sometime perhaps and we always have an excuse. USPS does not need electric vehicles it needs to have less managers, more military retirees and get rid of the union. And tracking is a joke right? I was an Army IG (twice) and I made things happen. As an IG if they like you then you are probably not doing your JOB.

    Our mail delivery service has gone from bad to worse and to report it is a joke as the response is that it’s not us it’s them and then they say you don’t have a tracking number wow since when do you need a tracking number for just sending out a get well card or a letter and to report it you might get a carrier that comes out totally pissed off and starts to scream at you and tell you what you are to do if you wanna report anything else in the future and they didn’t do anything wrong and you better listen to them or else ??????? Well that didn’t go very well with my husband and then we are told we should have just went in our house and let it go hummmmmmm this is our service we pay for I don’t know about anybody else but I wanna tell you that I am going to get on board with everything by way of email and direct banking and do away with the mail system as best as I can as I don’t want or need this crap and then made to believe we should just except this and tolerate it nope not at all and whoever is at fault for what’s happened to our mail system should be totally ashamed of themselves and whoever is in charge is in need of being fired and punished for destroying our mail system and I’d like to know where the heck has all my lost mail gone

    A tracking # has zero meaning anymore. I was mailing letters with a tracking# which costs more than just a stamp. They were NOT scanning them at all. They even went so far as to charge one of the recipients $3.50 after holding it for 3 weeks without ever scanning it! I am back to just using stamps. I am thinking about mailing a GPS tracking device an audio/video recording device just to see how bad it really it is.

    I couldn’t agree more. Too much money goes to incompetent managers & workers. More workers than ever before dumping mail in vacate lots or woods. Tracking updates no longer exist. No one can explain where your package is. All they do is remind you that you cannot sue them. I say privatize the mail service & do away with the union. You work or you get fired. We certainly do not need some bureaucrat in charge. We need a smart business man. And don’t get me started on stupid electric vehicles. Hire more hard working people!

    On June 10, 2021 I went to the Tigard, Or. Main PO. Clerk: 12 was so patient and helpful. Almost a year ago I had bought 10 Flat Rate Envelopes to mail information to my family. It had taken me many months longer to get all the new information together. Consequently it did cost 20 cents more an envelope, I really "goofed up", I put the tracking sticker over the stamp instead of where it was suppose to go on the left side. Clerk 12 helped me pull the tracking stickers off and do the envelope like they were suppose to be. I kept apologizing and she assured me it would be okay. Tho the office was busy, she stayed with me till we got the envelopes correct and ready to mail. She needs a medal and acknowledged for her patience and helpfulness! :-) Sincerely, Phyllis Grant
