Reasonable Accommodation Written Procedures

Overview

The United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General Reasonable Accommodation Written Procedures, also referred to Standards of Practice, is modeled after the Postal Service’s Handbook EL-307, Reasonable Accommodation, An Interactive Process. The establishes procedures that enable the OIG’s Reasonable Accommodation Committee to assist managers and supervisors with making sound decisions regarding reasonable accommodation of qualified individuals with disabilities and meeting our legal and regulatory responsibilities during the hiring process and during their employment with the OIG.

Pursuant to Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 C.F.R. § 1614.203(d)(3)) and Executive Order 13164, these procedures have been established for processing requests for reasonable accommodations and are available to all employees and job applicants via the Postal Service OIG website and on the KCE Home Page. A written copy or other accessible format (larger print, brail, etc.) will be provided to job applicants and employees upon request.
