We sent 50 scholarship applications via US postal to an organization. The package was damaged. A third went to the committee. A third were returned. Today we had 10 more returned to us. We are missing 5. We are planning to notify those students because of the nature of the information present in their application. What does the USPS do with those documents they do not match? Are they shredded or simply thrown away?
