Working with our Law Enforcement Partners

Our special agents investigate nationwide internal crimes and fraud committed by postal employees and contractors as well as postal employee misconduct. We work with U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and local prosecutors across the country to prosecute these crimes. 

In some instances, we uncover much larger criminal activity being carried out by multiple individuals and organizations. In many of these cases, we partner with other federal and local law enforcement agencies to identify and hold responsible those who take advantage of the public’s trust in our postal system.

Two Sentenced in Wiretap Investigation into Meth Trafficking

PITTSBURGH, PA – A California resident and a Pennsylvania resident have been sentenced in federal court on their convictions for violating federal narcotics laws related to a nine-month Title III wiretap investigation into drug trafficking in and around the counties of Jefferson, Clearfield, and Allegheny, United States Attorney Cindy K. Former Postal Worker Sentenced for Obstruction of Mail

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – KEVIN HART, age 31, of Marrero, Louisiana, was sentenced to a $100.00 fine and a $10.00 mandatory special assessment fee by United States District Court Judge Wendy B. Vitter. According to court documents, HART was employed by the United States Postal Service as a City Carrier Associate and was assigned to work at Johnson Street Post Office, Metairie, Louisiana 70001. On or about July 1, 2021, HART knowingly and willfully did obstruct and retard the passage of the mail

Madison County Man Pleads Guilty to Receipt and Possession of Child Pornography

SYRACUSE, NEW YORK – Ryan Berte, age 33, of Eaton, New York, pled guilty yesterday to receiving and possessing hundreds of images and videos of child pornography announced United States Attorney Carla B. Satsuma Postal Carrier Indicted On Theft Of Mail Charge

Jacksonville, Florida – United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announces the return of an indictment charging Sara Brady (47, Satsuma), formerly a postal carrier in St. Johns County, with theft of mail by a postal employee. If convicted, Brady faces up to 5 years in federal prison and payment of restitution to the victims in the case. Brady was arrested on January 18, 2023, by the United States Postal Service – Office of Inspector General.

PITTSBURGH, PA – Two Pennsylvania men have been sentenced on their convictions for violating federal narcotics laws related to a nine-month Title III wiretap investigation into drug trafficking in and around the counties of Jefferson, Clearfield, and Allegheny, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced today. The Drug Enforcement Administration led the multi-agency investigation of this case, which also included the United States Postal Service – Office of Inspector General,
