You can read all about what we have done in the six-month time period ending March 31, 2021 in our Spring 2021 Semiannual Report to Congress (SARC).
You can also see some of the highlights to the right. In addition to our usual wide scope of work, we focused particular attention on the Postal Service’s response to the pandemic, the impact of operational changes, and the Postal Service’s handling of the record-setting number of mailed ballots during the 2020 election.
During the first half of the year, we issued 53 audit reports, management advisories, and white papers, with USPS accepting 92 percent of our recommendations. We completed 1,331 investigations that led to 531 arrests and more than $152.7 million in fines, restitution payments, and recoveries, with almost $30.2 million being returned to the Postal Service.
