The global pandemic of COVID-19 has impacted our country in ways that were unimaginable months ago. It is changing how people across the U.S. and around the world are working, shopping, even interacting with one another. States have ordered many stores and businesses to close. Businesses that continue to operate are faced with protecting their employees and customers, while coming up with creative ways to market and deliver their products.

The Postal Service continues to serve the public, operating on the front line, fulfilling the universal service obligation to deliver to every house and business every day. USPS is finding itself serving a population that is relying on it now more than ever. For many home-bound and quarantined people, home delivery is the only source for medicine and other vital supplies. During this time, the Postal Service has also prioritized the safety of its employees and customers.

We recognize the reality of the pandemic and have adapted our operations to maintain continuity while ensuring the safety of our employees. We are taking abundant care to minimize exposure to both our employees and Postal Service employees, using technology whenever possible. As we have told our employees, we also ask you to follow CDC guidelines, remain home as much as possible, and stay safe.

For questions or concerns about delivery during the pandemic, please go to usps.com to track mail or get information from the USPS Coronavirus FAQs page.

Postal Service employees, for work-related complaints or issues, please use our Hotline to let us know.

I know that covid-19 is slowing companies down but yall need to understand that what we order is important, and our stuff shouldn't take longer than what we expect.

Trying to figure out how my first two packages from Australia blue through customs and we're delivered to my front door within a matter of a day, yet a pair of tail lights I ordered around the same time have been sitting in the inspector General's queue for about week? States that it's been processed through inspector General's office, which process through tells me it's been approved and it should be at my door sometime soon, but no updates. This update happened on April 30th... it left Australia on the 24th, I know it doesn't take more than a day or two to get to New York so what's up? Is there a huge massive backlog of items being imported from other countries? I think a little heads up from the inspector General's office letting us know the current situation is definitely needed oh, and not just everyone assuming that they're playing hockey with our packages in the back cuz they're bored

I have read so many service related complaints against to forum rules, however, I do know how frustrating it is to not know when, where and what time . My suggestion is to install the Informed Delivery app. I find it Very useful and informative. They give daily notifications and tracking as well. Its usually the 1st app I open in the morning.

    May 02, 2020
  • anon

i have the app. it’s great but.. i have a packed “in transit” since May 2nd. it’s my prescription glasses and i’m worried. i will give it a couple of more days.

    May 08, 2020
  • anon

Informed Delivery doesn't help when you've got a package sitting in "In transit" status for 20+ days. What would be nice is for USPS tracking to actually "inform" us exactly where our packages are.

I sent my grand daughter a parcel from Canada on April 16. The last of the tracking information was April 25 stating it is in transit to destination but they haven’t received it. I realize that the Covid virus is causing delays. I sent the parcel priority mail which was suppose to arrive on April 21. Just wondering if parcel is lost or if it will still be delivered.

I also sent a package to Canada and was told on April 25th that it was "in transit" at the Jamaican Ny distribution center. I also have not received any further updates

I got the job offer and then followed the 2nd email instructions and within minutes I received email from NACI. My question is, when will I do the drug test? Do I get any email for scheduling drug test? Please help. Thank you.

I order from a given business fairly frequently, and the priority shipment always takes the same route from Texas to California: North Houston > Santa Clarita > Woodland Hills (destination facility). If the shipment is sent out on a Monday, for example, I always get it by Wednesday, and very rarely Thursday. My most recent order, which was shipped on Tuesday, has taken a completely different route: North Houston > Phoenix > Anaheim > Los Angeles Network Distribution Center (tracking claims that this is the destination facility, but it's not). My expected delivery date was today, but now I'm just hoping my shipment arrives tomorrow so that I don't have to wait until Monday. Normally, I wouldn't care, but this shipment is important. Can anyone tell me why the change in route? I understand that some things have changed as a result of COVID19, but it seems like changing the route completely and adding extra stops would make for more work rather than less.

I’m among the many who has seemingly had a package stuck in transit indefinitely. It’s been over a month now, and my package is stuck in Texas. The label hasn’t even been entered.

    May 01, 2020
  • anon

I came here to be sure my domestic package wasn’t the only one stuck indefinitely. It’s been at the Springfield MA distribution for 2 weeks now with no sign of moving. It’s a care package, but I will continue to hope it will someday get sorted into a truck for me. Hope the best for yours as well.

I have the same problem, I live in Holyoke and I have 2 packages, one that arrived in Springfield, MA on 5/6 and the other on 5/4 and they both haven’t left yet.iv order items way later than these and they are either out for delivery or IV gotten them. I mean if it’s in Springfield, i should have had these at least by yesterday or today the absolute latest! It’s very frustrating seeing one of them is extremely important!!

I myself had a package mailed priority in ft worth. It was scanned as accepted. Then it was scanned as in transit. Expected delivery may 2. Since then, all it says is in transit. The 800 # was less than useless. Noone can seem to say anything but. "It isnt lost, it's just in transit." But beyond that. Nobody knows anything. Seems a strange way to do business. It's in transit, not lost. But we don't know where it is or when you'll get it. I expect that service from wish. Not the USPS

Same with me, I have three packages all shipped from CA and there has been no movement in tracking for a month now. I have no idea where these packages are. I was on hold with USPS for 1 hour and 49 minutes and finally had to hang up. I received an email reply from USPS 5 days after emailing them and I literally have to give my right kidney they want so much detailed information. I don't know what to do. Frustrating for sure.

I live in Maryland and ordered an item from the UK on 4/20. The item arrived at ISC Miami FL on 4/23 with an expected delivery date of 4/24. It is now 5/1 and I still don't have my package. I don't understand why it is taking longer for my package to get from Miami to my home in Maryland than it did from the UK to Miami. I understand that we are going through a pandemic but something is wrong here. In the future, i will definitely be choosing another shipping company!

This pandemic has made your workers horrible! I’ll be lucky if I hear my package being thrown against the door because they refuse to knock plus I had to go to the post office to pick up my package that was supposed to be delivered days ago but since it required a signature they put it down as no one was home meanwhile I been home since March!!

I have mailed a couple items in the past couple weeks. One small package was mailed 10 week days ago (Apr 20th) with an original delivery projected at 3 days. Per tracking the package had been in Newark NJ since April 24th while the first class letter I mailed was dropped off at the Post Office late on April 21. I totally understand that package and letter deliveries are taking longer but the first class letter would normally have taken 3 days max and the package would have been 5 days max. Are processes and staffing problems today extending deliveries up to 3x or maybe ? the time or did I just get real unlucky. If this is going to be the norm maybe the Post Offices could alert everyone what the new normal is. I did not expect it to take a minimum of 2 weeks to deliver a first class letter 30 miles across the state.

I was in the post office today and was told that I had to have a face mask on and they were not nice about it.

    Apr 30, 2020

Oh boo hoo. You have to be considerate of other people's health. Must suck. You should've been wearing a mask anyways, mate. Grow up.

    May 06, 2020
  • anon

Good. We've been in this pandemic for a month and a half now and you're still walking around outside without a mask? WHY? You're putting other people's health at risk and you know better by now. On top of that, you expect them to be nice and patient as well? What's wrong with you, are you just ignorant?

    May 05, 2020

There is something really wrong with Priority Mail. A Flat Rate envelope dropped off AT the Post Office in Clifton, NJ destined for Piscataway. NJ on 4/24. It goes from there to Teterboro, NJ and then takes 4 days to arrive in Louisville, Kentucky.. Hus? There it sits since Monday. I could have walked the envelope to Piscataway by now.... If there are such serious delays with Priority Mail, the USPS should be posting that info so we don't waste our money.

I have informed delivery, and have been patiently waiting for three packages that ended up in the NDC in Allen Park on 23April 2020. I have another that was shipped without tracing which just seems to have disappeared into the abyss. I do understand we are all trying to function under extraordinary circumstances and I do appreciate all our mail carriers working every day! But this needs to be fixed, hire temps or somrthing. People are paying good money for the contents of packages. Most of us cannot afford not to receive goods we paid for in good faith. Buyers and sellers are in limbo! Please please do something to clear the log jam.

Is the USPS still delivering magazines that customers have subscriptions to? Or are magazines not deemed essential to be delivered? If so are they being had in the local post offices for customers to come in pick up their mail. Just curious. Many thanks .

Is it safe for me to go to the post office to deliver a small package?

    Apr 30, 2020

I sent a envelope Priority mail on 4/14/20 from my local post office. As of 4/18/20 it only went to next facility which is 45 min away & has been “In transit” since 4/18/20. It is very important that this gets delivered. I’ve been checking daily only to see “In transit”. I understand working on the frontlines during this pandemic. I don’t like not knowing where my package is or knowing it could be another few weeks before it is delivered. We need to be provided some type of update.

Can USPS offices refuse service if customers do not have a face mask. I was yelled out today by USPS representatives because I didn't have a face mask on.

    Apr 29, 2020
  • anon

The real question why weren't you wearing one? Many people have children, elders, or other immonocompromised people at home. Your noncompliance literally puts everyone you make contact with at risk. This pandemic has been going on for nearly 2 months already, so you clearly know better by now. Please don't be inconsiderate. Just wear a mask and nobody will have to refuse you service. It's really that simple.

    May 05, 2020
  • anon

Yes, they can. Most states have issued executive orders which require you to be wearing a face mask in public during this time, because your refusal to do so literally harms other people. Some of those people have small children or elders and other immunocompromised people at home. The real question is why aren't you wearing one? The pandemic has been going on for nearly two months now, so you clearly know better. Please be more considerate to others.

Do you know if you are a systematic? Do you know the person in front of you that is wearing a mask has a heart condition? Did you notice the person in front of you was 75? Did you know the postal worker is diabetic? All 3 of these people that wear masks are in the high risk group and you put them at risk of exposure because of selfishness. My guess is you're between 21-30.

I have been expecting six different packages all of which are failing to update for days after leaving the sort facility (in most cases Pittsburgh). Pittsburgh to Akron is usually a one-day delay in shipping at most, these have all left Pittsburgh (or a few other facilities) more than four days ago, all showing the 12:00 AM "In transit to next facility" update. Another package was showing "USPS in possession of item," followed an hour later with another update: "Shipping label created, USPS awaiting item." Is Covid really slowing/screwing everything up this much? I've never experienced multiple issues at once like this with USPS. Just wondering, I know USPS employees are doing everything they can to stay safe and keep our mails coming, but packages disappearing from tracking more often than not, and even "un-shipping" themselves is pretty surreal!

Both USPS offices in my town (Bayonne Nj 07002) have suspended retail services, closed the window AND closed the parcel pick up and drop off. I have time sensitive returns/pick ups and cannot do either. This is inconvenient to say the least. Is it even legal?

It says here that the mail is delivered 5-6 days a week but in Genesee County (Flint, mi area) it is not. I collect mail for both work and home and it seems as though we’re only getting mail 2-3 times a week. We had a customer send us a check on April 2nd but didn’t receive it until 4/20 I’m not getting a lot of my statements from customers either. I realize we’re in the midst of a pandemic but no one can talk to who they need to. What’s going on?

We are in Whitehall, MI and see the same. We haven't received any mail for 3 days. We used to receive mail daily, but no longer. Now, as you said, we see mail 2-3 times a week. (and no junk mail at all now, which is kind of nice!)

Small world. I’m in Dalton Township. I have been waiting on a package mailed April 9th. It’s been in Detroit since April 20th. The USPS told me it’s there, not marked as damaged. So she says I have to be patient. It’s been a month. It’s the same for 3 other packages I have. All been in limbo at distribution centers.

I have ordered a package from US to Europe more than one moth ago. It is now stucked at NY airport, status says "in transit". In transit since 15th of April. I understand that the situation is serious in US, even in New York area(same here, in Europe), I could accept delays, but it is getting way too much. I still could accept the delay, if I got any feedback regarding the cause and saying we still have your package, but I do not got anything up to now.I payed quite much for this stuff, and I need it. USPS, please at least give information to your customers...
