    What exactly does "In Transit to Destination " mean? Well to the post off ice it means sitting in a truck in a parking lot or in a bin at this Springfield USPS Distribution Center..... it sure doesn't mean it is in transit to destination! Priority Mail means whatever is in the package or envelope is in immediate need to get where it is going...but not to the post office.....Naugatuck, CT to Waterbury, CT Priority Envelope has gone from Naugatuck,CT to Springfield, MA to Waterbury, CT (never delivered) back to Springfield, MA and now says DELAYED! So unbelievable and now I have to wait 15 days to file a claim.........It would have been faster with a regular stamp....but I wanted to know when it was delivered...LOL...NEVER!!!!!

    After reading all the comments below I should have travel 231 miles for my important mail that must be delivered on time. That's why I choose next day mail which was mailed Feb 6 and must arrive Feb 7 2018. This place should be checked for scam artist. I thought yesterday because the snow storm but this an everyday thing. Please someone respond with a positive comment so I can have hope. Thank you.

    Everyday I check the tracking on my package and everyday it shows the same thing: February 7, 2018, 7:16 am Departed USPS Regional Destination Facility SPRINGFIELD MA NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER The package is delayed and will not be delivered by the expected delivery date. An updated delivery date will be provided when available. Your item departed our SPRINGFIELD MA NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER destination facility on February 7, 2018 at 7:16 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination. Everyday it says the package departed the distribution center, but it doesn't. What's going on at this distribution center? How long should I wait before I file a claim?

    My husband’s medication should be forwarded to our temporary address in Florida. It has been entire sunce 1/17/28. It keeps being returned to the Springfield facility.

    I got half a envelope back with half the payment stub, but no check. Why wasn't my check torn in half like it was before? This has happened before, but everything was torn in half. Which no good up there pocketed my check. I had to stop payment. It cost me $40. Not happy. If they had to reimburse people, they would be a lot more careful.

    Shipped Priority package to IRS Hartford on Jan 25. It was at the Springfield Distr Ctr on Jan 27, then in transit to Hartford from Jan 28-Jan31. On Feb 1 is was back at the Springfield Distr Ctr. Based on the other items I read here, there is something very wrong with mail processing at that Center. I'm told my package is delayed, but not why or when I can expect it to arrive at the IRS (this organization - the IRS - not being very gracious with extending deadlines.)

    My package has been leaving Springfield for 3 days. I only live 45 minutes away! This has happened with every single package over the past several months. Ridiculous doesn't even begin to describe it.

    I have the same problem and it left there 3 times since Jan 25th it is now Feb 2nb and has been in route to Vernon CT for 18 hours it is a 25 minute drive. Some how itkeeps ending up back there? And no on answers the phone?

    A package of great importance has been stuck at your distribution center for 11 days en route to Florida. It was to be delivered on 1/23/18. I have not gotten any explanation for this negligence. It has been in "transit" for 11 days. This is a unacceptable. I am getting no answers from anybody and as I said this is a time sensitive package. What is going on at this facility? Someone needs to pay attention!!

    My sister has mailed an envelope by Priority Mail with signature confirmation for more than a week. The tracking says it is in transit to the Amherst, MA post office. Then it said, being delayed, then now it said it is at the Springfield MA Network Distribution Center facility. I would like to know where is my envelope? This is very important to me.

    I'm seriously thinking of taking Amtrak from CT to the Distribution Center in Springfield, MA. I will take a cab from the station and go to the facility that is holding my package and I want to come home with it in hand. It will cost me over $100 to do this and I will sue the PO for that expense. I don't care how long or complicated it is. I have all the time in the world.

    I know where my package is. YOU have it. When I track it, it says ALERT -- what does that mean? You've been holding the package now for almost a full week. The postmaster here told me it was thrown into a bin for manual processing. I want an explanation as to why. It is at the USPS Distribution Center in Springfield, MA. But ALSO, the tracking information will change and say Delivery expected and give a date. I've gotten several of those, and I alert the recipients to wait for the package, that it's coming, and then when it doesn't arrive, I go back online to track the package and it's back to saying that the package is being held and the ALERT is up again. What's going on? If they can't deliver it for some reason, I want to know why, and I WANT YOU TO MAIL THE PACKAGE BACK TO ME. I'll try to find someone competent who can deliver it. On another note, I went on your site and was given an email address to send my inquiry to, and guess what? The email address is nonexistent. WOW.

    I am frantically trying to intercept 2 large piece of luggage that I was told was going 3D priority on a flight to HIlo HI from the holbrook post office. It has everything my daughter owns and she is at the university studying without any clothes or her school supplies since 1/6/18. I would like to retrieve it and put it in a box so it can be mailed. I do not want it shipped on another truck. PLEASE IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME. I have called numerous times and cannot get anyone on the phone and have left messages with no response. I can drive to your location and get the luggage if it is still there. Please let me know.

    I just wanted to say that the Springfield, MA Distribution Center is terrible. This is the 2nd piece of mail in a year and a half coming through them that I have had trouble with. I had a package coming from California on Dec. and it arrived at this center on Dec. 25th. It was going to Middletown, CT. It sat there and there was a message that it was being delayed. Then they sent it back to Los Angeles and now it is says it's back on it's way to Middletown, CT. What is wrong with this facility?

    I'm now having the SAME PROBLEM. I mailed a small pkg to my granddaughter -- weighs less than a pound. It's in a box, perfectly and correctly labeled. On the date of delivery it didn't show up so I checked the tracking online and it came up with an ALERT. No reason given, no clue as to what that meant. Since then I've contacted local po's that don't have a clue about anything that has to do with tracking or delivery, I wrote emails, letters, made calls, and nothing. The package was to be delivered on the 18th and now it's the 21 and the ALERT is still on my tracking page. Twice now, I've gotten emails stating that my package is now in transit and will be delivered on a certain date. Great, problem solved. No, it wasn't delivered. I had people come to wait at the house all day long waiting for the package. I got back online and the delivery information had changed back to the ALERT. So it's sitting in Springfield, MA in a bin waiting for manual sorting. NO ONE can tell me why. Twice now a little 5 year old girl has had her hopes crushed because the P.O. doesn't give a rat's ass about their commitments and responsibilities. What can we do to get answers? I've filed formal complains and have heard nothing.

    Package was shipped to me December 13th from Valley Stream NY, on December 25 tracking was finally updated indicating that it was at the Springfield Network Distribution Center. HOWEVER, all that was delivered to me was a piece of cardboard flap with the mailing label addressed to me. Tracking now indicates that my package was successfully delivered. UNBELIEVEABLE. This is the 2nd time a package mailed to me has vanished at this Springfield HUB. There should be an investigation into this HUB, especially in view of other complaints below. This package was well wrapped and reinforced, I cannot believe that it was lost. It also looks like the piece of cardboard sent to me has slice marks on it which indicates that the label was cut out of the shipping box. What recourse do we have when this situation happens? Who should be investigating this HUB ? How do I get my merchandise now?

    Same thing that I'm going through now. My package is in a bin waiting to be manually sorted they told me. Why I got an ALERT on the tracking page, I don't know. This package is extremely important to my grandchild who literally waits by the window waiting for the mailman. Her package was due to be delivered on the 18th, it is not the 21st and I still have no idea where my package is except for in a bin somewhere in Springfield, MA. How dare they treat our valuables with such disrespect! And no communication! No answers! She has been sitting by that window every day since waiting. The package contains something extremely sentimental to us and is priceless when it comes to the love that is in it. If anyone knows what we can do about this, tell me. The Post Office is silent. I wrote to the Postmaster Inspector General of the United States and filed a formal complaint. What have I gotten in return? NOTHING.

    Still waiting to receive a package that has been sitting at the Springfield MA Network Distribution Center. It states that it was undeliverable and then package made rounds to different centers even my own town and sent back to Springfield MA. Is there a telephone number to call this distribution center? I'm unable to locate a telephone number.

    Customer has not received package shipping Dec 5th. Tracking ended at the Springfield, MA Regional Distribution Center and updated: Package on it's way the 6 & & and on the 8th it had the same message but also your package has been delayed. I emailed the link on USPS and received a general acknowledgment reply but that was over 24 hours ago. I called the number on the email and that was an Ohio based facility and they had no further information and said it would have gone from Springfield to Cleveland but there was no scan. There are NO known phone numbers for the MA facility that the USPS has been able to supply me with.

    Same thing happened to me at this Distribution Center. My message below: I mailed a package from Concord, NC on December 16, 2017. It was scheduled to arrive at its destination, Gorham, Maine on December 21, 2017. The package contained gifts for my elderly parents. The tracking went dead for over a week and a half. Then on January 1, 2018 I was informed that the package was to be returned to sender from the Springfield MA location. On Saturday January 6th I received in the Mail a letter and the original To and From that I applied from the package! Someone took the time to cut the info off of the package and send back to me with a letter that contained a wrong phone number to call and inquire about the package. Somewhere in the Springfield MA distribution center, the contents of my package resides - hopefully! But, there is no way to prove who it belongs to because some idiot cut the addresses and the USPS Tracking number off of it. Reading through this web site, it seems I am not alone. Looks to me that this is a serious issue in this distribution center. I have called multiple times on a number that I had to look up myself and left a message for "Joe". I fully expect to never receive a call back. Know this, I will not stop until I find out what happened to my package and my parents presents. I also learned that any unclaimed merchandise goes to auction for the Postal Workers. Well, that works out perfect for them considering they remove all info that would link a person to the package - thus causing no one to actually claim their items. What a disgrace. Know this, I expect a return call. I will be relentless until I get answers. I will recoup my merchandise or equal value for the contents and the $25 it cost to ship the package.

And im tired of calling to get information about my package and all it says is that it is on transit to sarasota.... i would to know where is my package?     I have a package that is suppose to be delivered to wyandanch ny 11798. In tracking it it says it went to the Springfield MA Network Distribution Center and left the Springfield MA Network Distribution Center and sent to the Springfield MA Distribution Center. Why why would it go there be sent out then back there and sent out again? And when will I get my package?

    A package sent to me departed from Cologne, Germany on 11/13/2017 and was verified by the German Post office that it had arrived on 11/15/2017 in the USA. From there the package no longer could be tracked as I did not know the two letters that were in front and behind the tracking number supposedly. After waiting for 3 weeks with phone calls back and force my relative finally received those letters (not sure why there are such strict codes about these to give them out when without these packages cannot be tracked?) Yesterday I learned that the packaged was scanned in Springfield, MA on 12/03/2017, forwarded then to Jersy City and is finally now in transit to me. Still waiting to receive and hoping it is in one piece!!! WHY THE NEAR 3 WEEK DELAY AT THE SCANNING DEPPARTMENT IN SPRINGFIELD, MA ??? Please forward an answer! Thank You! Christa Bush

    My brother sent a priority mail package on Friday, December 1st from coffeen, IL and it should have arrived here in taftville, ct by no later than thursday. I have been tracking this package for 3 days now and it keeps telling me it was delayed at the Springfield mass distribution center and yesterday it said it left there and was in transit to it's destination, now today it is saying it left at 8:08 today and is in transit. I am trying to find out exactly where my package is and where it will go next so I can know when I might receive it. Priority mail is an extra charge to the person sending a package out so that they are assured that the package will get to who they are sending it to within 2-3 days. It will be a week tomorrow since it was sent and I feel my brother should receive a refund on priority mail charge. I would also kindly like to know exactly where my package is and when and where it will go next, please and thank you. I k ow this is a busy time of the year but when you pay for a specific service you expect to receive that specific service, which we did not. I would very much like an explanation for this.     Hi, My very critical package from embassy is stuck in SPRINGFIELD MA NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER. It has arrived here on 19th September but there is no update on it after that. I have been trying to follow up with USPS and calling every possible place and they are unable to locate the package. Can the Office of inspector general help me track my package and deliver it to me in Hartford, CT asap. This is very urgent and critical one, can't even explain the trauma this missing package has caused.

    I mailed a package from Porter, TX on October 10, 2017 Priority mail. My receipt said it would be Whitney, TX by October 12, 2017. In tracking it it says it went to the Springfield MA Network Distribution Center and left the Springfield MA Network Distribution Center and sent to the Springfield MA Distribution Center and left it for Whitney, TX and it would not arrive on expected date. Where is the Springfield MA Network Distribution Center and why would it go there be sent out then back there and sent out again?

    I Sent the form for lost package but I was cut off from a description of all of the boxes contents. I was only able to describe one item out of the three. Since I already used the tracking code, I can't re-do it. The package was very important.

    Magnetic Seal is the company i ordered for. I ordered 5 books from Amazon at a cost of $50. I got nothing but a label in the mail, and a package that said we are sorry for the damage to your mail. i tried to call the number that was left.1 800 usps help this is not a good number. i also called the springfield network dist center, no answer tracking number 9449 0112 0123 7697 1057 82 says it was delivered , but the only thing i got was an empty box cover.

If you have not already done so, please try contacting your local Post Office. If you have already done that, try contacting USPS Customer Service, (800-275-8777), or file an online complaint with Customer Service on the USPS website

    My son was mailing his belongings from Phoenix AZ back to Truro MA. One package arrived partially open with the contents mostly gone. It had been filled with books (media mail) Another package was lost entirely with the last scan saying it left Springfield on May 10 or 11 due in Truro the next day . Nothing arrived. A couple of weeks later a new box arrived with the tracking number and address info cut off the original box and taped onto the new box. There were 2 items in the box, one of which didn't belong to him. DOZENS of CDs and DVDs are missing. I have a listing of missing items that I am willing to forward along. These items need to be SOMEWHERE! I am a recently retired letter carrier with 31 years of service and this is very disappointing.

    I ordered 7 items from old navy and my package was delayed longer than usual in Springfield, MA. So I did not get my items before xmas. When I finally got my package it was not in old navy packaging, I got a large usps yellow envelope and I only got 2 of my ordered items. No notes about a damaged package or anything. So where is my stuff. No report taken nothing is going to be done. So someone could have purposely opened my package and no one will ever know. Ifirst the package was caught up on a belt or something and damaged where are my items? Is there a bottomless abyss at the distribution ctr. That items from packages are not found? I filled out a missing item report but will anything come of that? The address labels from the original packaging was cut and taped to a yellow envelope. Why didn't that person write on the package original package damaged? So frustrating dealing with government agencies.

    I received my package of clothes from Florida. I have a letter from you stating that "The enclosed has been damaged in handling in the U.S. Postal Service". Bad enough everything was just stuffed back in, but I have several articles of clothing with BLACK STUFF all over them, some new items. At this point I want to know what this stuff is so I can try and get them cleaned! Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated asap.
