Based on fielding customer service calls and complaints for 5 years regarding International packages, it's evident clerks have not received adequate training on International shipping. Most common complaints are: not being offered all options, not being told the advantages and disadvantages of each mail class - particularly First Class International - and either not knowing about or not using the International Mail Manual to look up a country's prohibitions and restrictions, not knowing how the International claims process works, and not explaining to customers about the possibility of customs charges being a assessed and that paying for postage does not cover those charges.
