Background

The Sunrise Station is in the Nevada – Utah District of the WestPac Area. The unit has 69 city routes which are delivered by 83 full-time city carriers, four part-time flexible carriers, and 19 city carrier assistants. The Sunrise Station also has 10 full-time clerks and seven postal support employees. We chose the Sunrise Station based on the number of stop-the-clock (STC) scans occurring at the delivery unit, rather than at the point of delivery, and the number of Customer 360 inquiries the unit received related to package tracking and mail delivery delays. Our objective was to evaluate select mail delivery and customer service operations and determine whether internal controls were effective at the Sunrise Station.

I am complaining about our mailman for the second time. The first time several months ago was because of a missing package. This time, he is down-right rude and nasty. My 2 year old son and I walk to pick up the mail every day (M-Saturday) and we happen to arrive when the mailman is either in the middle of dropping the mail off, or when he's done. I always say 'hello' and 'thank you'. My son waves as well. The man barely acknowledges us -- he grunts and mumbles a nasty 'uh huh'. I DO NOT want him on our route anymore. I don't trust him. He obviously hates his job and quite frankly, I am terribly uncomfortable seeing him. My stomach drops when I turn the corner and see his truck there. My son is trying to be nice and he ignores him. Disgusting and disgraceful. Location - NV 89118. Description - about 5'6", light brown hair, average built, go-tee and white. Please switch mailman's to someone who is kind and pleasant. Thank you.

Before YOUR objective is approached, make sure your carriers follow Nevada State Law. Today I went to get my mail while the carrier was filling the mail slots. I stood at least six feet away from the 30ish old black man with a beard and "politely" asked him if he is supposed to be wearing a mask. His reply was: "What mask? This is America, you don't have to wear no mask". I asked him if he has been vaccinated to which he replie "no". I then asked him for his first name and he refused, telling me that he is just a "fill-in" and NOT the regular postman on this route. His truck number is 1422673, looked new but no front license plate. This all occurred today 11/12/2021 about 4:00 p.m. PST on Crinolined Ave. nearest to Chocolate Street. Nevada state law still mandates that masks be worn in Clark County even for vaccinated folk.
