Background

The Katy Carrier Annex is in the Houston District of the Southern Area. The unit has 48 city routes, 32 rural routes, and seven contract routes delivered by 62 city carriers, 49 rural carriers, and seven contract carriers. We chose the Katy Carrier Annex based on the number of stop-the-clock (STC) scans occurring at the delivery unit.

Our objective was to evaluate select mail delivery and customer service operations at the Katy Carrier Annex.

I’ve been in my home 4 months almost received mail twice up of picking up at the post office I paid $50 to get a mailbox key and was told 8 weeks everyone is rude and has a I don’t care attitude. Ive been here 4 weeks in a row and no mail when I clearly get emails of my mail. Also she showed me mail I returned for a past person that lived at the address. That means our mail is lost or something this is not okay

The post office employee at 5701 4th st Katy tx. (Older woman, appears Caucasian) treated me very badly today, 4/27/21 around 10:10am. When I politely asked if I could leave a package, she snapped at me and actually yelled at me about my package. I have never been treated so unprofessionally and rudely by a postal employee. It was humiliating. Please address this problem. I’m not sure what it is about me that set her off, but I was polite, properly dressed, and I am in no way threatening in appearance.

I honestly think Pony Express would be faster. It shouldn't take, thirteen days for a registered letter to get to its destination. I keep tracking it and several of those days it isn't logged in anywhere. Besides that, what happens to those people that pay their bills, through the mail and the bills are late. (Guess who pays the penalty).

Gee you pick a little office with almost no relevance to advancing the mail in a timely fashion. How about inspecting the fact that entire trailers of Mail sit for a week to 10 days at a time on the lot at. ... 7500 Lindnerg Blvd. Philadelphia PA 19176. You have Colossal failures day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year at this Sectional Center and yet do NOTHING.

Why didn’t the Postal Service prepare for the expected increase in mail. It’s pure mismanagement or no management. Everyone at the top should be replaced!

Completely Agree with your thought. Massive failures to advance the mail from Sectional Centers...ie. mail sitting in the yard on trailers for a week or more without being sorted and they are "Inspecting" some useless end of the line delays measured by single packages in seconds ... When they have thousands of letters and packages sitting (rotting) in trailers a week at a time. POOR MANAGEMENT.

Why did the Postal Service not prepare for the expected increase in mail. I have mailed packages priority mail and it sits for weeks somewhere in never never land. It’s just horrible mismanagement and failure to prepare!

Yup... a lot of training needed here......But the answers from Katy management should make you think........You should think about checking other post offices in that district to see if they conform to regulations...In a top down management structure such as usps what is absolutely necessary is trust. Trust both ways... If a post office has problems and asks for help up the line and is told solve your own problems or I don't want to hear it-trust is destroyed... This leads to giving management above the answers they want to hear... This just smells of a couple of layers of management just want to hear good news.. Colin Powell is quoted as saying-"when my people stop bringing me their problems, I stop being their leader." This just stinks of a lack of leadership within the district starting with the DM.... He/she looks good to those above while his district goes to shambles... Prove me wrong... This office is not an isolated incident, I guarantee....

This is happening in all post offices. Mismanagement from the very Top to the lower level supervisors. Which leads to the clerks and carriers taking all the abuse! Very, very poor leadership, lack of communication, too much Union bs, pushing the blame down the ladder. etc., etc.!!! USPS stand up and admit you cannot deliver the nation's mail and want to be the nation's package delivery service. Just deliver the mail and your own products. Let Amazon, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Newgistics handle their own products. Stop the drop shipments, your physical working staff is way understaffed, overworked and overwhelmed. You just cannot handle the volumes, your offices and plants are and were not set up for package distribution services. Just deliver my mail, priority, express and first class packages...please.
