Background

The Avent Ferry Station is in the Greensboro District of the Southern Area. The delivery unit has 58 city routes and 17 rural routes delivered by 78 city carriers and 27 rural carriers. We chose the Avent Ferry Station based on the number of stop-the-clock (STC) scans occurring at the delivery unit. Our objective was to evaluate select mail delivery and customer service operations and determine whether internal controls were effective at the Avent Ferry Station.

We found mail delayed for multiple reasons. We also found Avent Ferry Station management did not ensure that all delayed mail was accurately reported in the Customer Services Daily Reporting System.

    Have we read audits like this before?..... Plants fail to supply product in a timely fashion..... So..did your auditors drive over to the plant and ask the people working there what the problem was?...No.... we are going to have teleconferences where everybody promises everything and nothing improves... ....... district manager instructs to higher more people.... I did read where you were told they were having problems hiring people. ............Next.....instruct management types to do all of the stuff they are supposed to do... Yet, they tell you that they are shorthanded and have management types delivering mail.....REAL BOTTOM LINE: It appears from your audit that this was all news to district management...... Why don't you audit how this situation became so bad and what did district do, not do or flat out ignore and tell the poor slobs just keeping their heads above water'"good luck"......

    I had my mother pay over night shipping to receive very import so letter it said arrival 12 o’clock Jan 21 and I’ve yet to receive it I want my mail !

    At least somethings been done with that situation! My Ex whom works for USPS. Continues to illegally forward my mail , and my children’s mail, to his address. Mind you, they are not even his kids.... and he was PS continues to allow this to happen , since July. Of 2020. which is when I gained knowledge about this situation. USPS is the most corrupted organization I have ever seen in my life! My recommendation, use a different shipping service!
