The global pandemic of COVID-19 has impacted our country in ways that were unimaginable months ago. It is changing how people across the U.S. and around the world are working, shopping, even interacting with one another. States have ordered many stores and businesses to close. Businesses that continue to operate are faced with protecting their employees and customers, while coming up with creative ways to market and deliver their products.

The Postal Service continues to serve the public, operating on the front line, fulfilling the universal service obligation to deliver to every house and business every day. USPS is finding itself serving a population that is relying on it now more than ever. For many home-bound and quarantined people, home delivery is the only source for medicine and other vital supplies. During this time, the Postal Service has also prioritized the safety of its employees and customers.

We recognize the reality of the pandemic and have adapted our operations to maintain continuity while ensuring the safety of our employees. We are taking abundant care to minimize exposure to both our employees and Postal Service employees, using technology whenever possible. As we have told our employees, we also ask you to follow CDC guidelines, remain home as much as possible, and stay safe.

For questions or concerns about delivery during the pandemic, please go to usps.com to track mail or get information from the USPS Coronavirus FAQs page.

Postal Service employees, for work-related complaints or issues, please use our Hotline to let us know.

I live in MA and in my experience in the last 3 months of Covid things slowed down for understandable reasons. We all know what`s going on, so I am no surprised and do not complain about it. But I noticed that everything that transit thru PA falls in a black hole and delayed an extra 4 to 5 days at least (1 items 2 weeks delay) Philly or Pittsburgh the main problems. I did not have any of these extra delays with packages not transiting thru PA. So for me Pennsylvania has clearly some severe organisational issues that go way beyond the current pandemic. Hope USPS will deal with PA because so far has been a real bottleneck in the East Coast.

Here is my question. I sent two first-class packages to Canada, and the destination is Western Canada. Now I have the tracking numbers, and the first one was shipped on June 9, 2020. The last update was June 13. I live in NY, and I know the package is going to get to JFK and get on a plane. The June 13 update says in transit to the next facility. I know there are times packages do not get scanned. I asked at my post office, and they know me. They are seeing the same thing I am seeing. Are packages going to Canada being held because of COVID, or that there is a shortage of aircraft to get packages out the country to Canada?

I had my car illegally repossessed by Hyundai. I was waiting for a certified letter to come. I found the letter dirty and deposited in my mailbox with no green signature card attached. My letter was not signed for by me. When I went to complain and wanted to see who signed for it, I was given the runaround. The clerk went in the back of the office and came back over 5 minutes later with a copy of my tracking info and a copy of what was supposed to be the signed card used at delivery. The clerk then said the card was signed for by my mail carrier and that is how it is done due to Covid. My time sensitive certified letter was a week late and I never signed for it. My car is now at Auction.

Our carrier out of the main post office in Fort Lauderdale does not wear a mask, even though it is now mandatory for everyone in public-inside or out, even if you're just walking in your neighborhood- to wear a facial covering. We and other neighbors have complained repeatedly to the managing supervisor of the office, and he refuses to even acknowledge emails and phone calls. This is the same carrier who has skipped delivery for our entire neighborhood 17 days in the last 9 weeks....another problem that the manager won't acknowledge or address.

I find the above statement is not correct there are different locations that the carrier temperature is not taken before duty at the site and these workets are not considered to be called Hazardous workers the. Federal Laws are not right

I ordered face masks back in May. They show that they've been sitting in transit in California for over a month now. I've been checking every day. This is ridiculous! The pandemic is going to be over before I even get them. :/

Crazy to believe that I have not ONE issue with package from the likes of Russia , China, Korea, even Italy when the carrier is Fedex or any other privately run postal service YET the US Gov run Usps has now delayed for two MONTHS, lost or damaged nearly 50% of shipments. Crazy. Two months? Cant get items out of ICS cause there are no workers? Then its time to close down unfortunately, pandemic or no pandeMic. This is about responsibility of obligation....a duty to fulfill the one asset usps should proudly have at all times. Fulfillment of shipping...and waiting two months 2 MONTHS and still no update or availabiLity of customer representative or any way to c9mmunicate with usps besides the wraparound, computerized generic responses shows a lack of proper management, leadership and a a very faulty system.

Tracking shows my package was mailed from France on April 30th where it was then held until May 29th. It then arrived ia few days later at ISC New York on June 3rd and it hasnt moved since. Today is July 6th. That is a 2 month wait. That is UNACCEPTABLE. A package does not need to be quarantined for covid that long based on your own website guidance for package handling and this is a small registered package not a washing machine! I am now forced to file a credit card chargeback since im being told there is nothing I can do but wait and I am beyond the delivery/damage protections with ebay/paypal with no idea of how long a wait this will be if it gets delivered at all. Someone needs to do a overhaul review of this department.

I order my customized "save the dates" from a company in Russia and the package has not moved since June 12 from customs. It's supposed to be delivered July 23rd. Don't think it's gonna happen!

Oh my goodness! If you’ve been waiting since April 30, I can only imagine how long my packages from Australia that were mailed in early June will take. I wish the USPS website would have been more forthcoming about the actual delivery time of international packages during Covid. Had I known this, I wouldn’t have made the purchases. Mine are all waiting in customs, as well. Like you, I expected some reasonable delay, but 3+ months is absolutely inexcusable & completely incompetent. How disappointing!

Shipped multiple packages from US to Europe with international express (all packages 40lbs+)....ALL delayed by months...Finding out TODAY that the packages were re-routed by Ship/SEA and no one ever told me that at the post office when I was dropping them off, keep people and your staff informed USPS....we get it, it will take longer...just communicate that to your customers when packages are being dropped off at the post offices!

Ever since February, every package, whether it's priority, express, first class, or certified, has been lost or delayed in some way. I can never get answers from anyone. My local post office won't help. I need this mail because COVID makes it impossible to do things in person where I live.

I am tired of the complaints and down grading of the USPS. Additionally the constant whining the USPS is broke and the Fed budget will have to save it. The PO never was, is not, and unless rules regarding it, the PO is doing fine thank you. If only the Fed Gov will follow their own different, the PO not required to put retiree funds before that person is born, or hired. Perhaps the Fed Gov can pay back "borrowed" money when the budget was short. A private company would have cut off non profitable (rural?) routes years ago. And now with the virus keeping us at home, getting drugs in the mail is one example how much we take the PO for granted. Then again, they are largest employer of military veterans, as well as my grandfather, father, bro-in-law and extended family members. Before the PO began micro-managing carriers, when starting his route Dad took letters from 'Nam to the waiting families to hear something. Yes, volume has decreased but the importance and value of our mail carriers cannot be more valuable.

Most people are not complaining about carriers. We are complaining about Customs holding our packages for an indeterminate amount of time with no way to get a resolution beyond being told to wait due to covid. I'm getting international packages I ordered 3 weeks ago. Where are my packages from 2 months ago!? They should be prioritizing these packages!

Germany shipped it on May 11th to America via Chicago ISC it got there on May 20th, 2020. On July 1 the messaged change from being processed through to Card created not in the system yet. I like the Post office and we need more than ever. My problem was Customs though. But wrong is wrong! There should be a ready to send form answer to send to a customer from Customs on why my Package was held up, put on hold or delayed.

I have been waiting for packages over seas for a few months. Why can I not find proper answers as to where did they go? Covid 19 has messed up all of us. If we all behaved like the USPS. We all would be dead already. I simply want to know how long of a wait. Not a made up one. Simple truth please.

I ordered a passport renewal in March and have yet to get it. The check to cover the costs was cashed but I’m scratching my head wondering why I haven’t received it. I try to inquire on the internet but I’m told things are backlogged because of COVID. Yes I understand but 3 months? What can I do?

I had applied for my daughter's passport and the application was accepted January 13th. We requested routine processing which said 6-8 weeks. Apparently passports dropped to the bottom of government priorities. I called and checked on it repeatedly. Finally, a couple days ago, I got an email saying it had been approved and was being shipped. It should arrive by July 6th. So yes, they really are THAT backed up. It sucks.

My yard is the one safe place I can walk around without a mask. What makes a UPS courier think it's ok to ask me questions about someone car parked by a mailbox when I go to retrieve my mail.Without a mask on. Because I didn't have a mask on she really made me mad. Normally I wear mask and gloves. She caught me by surprise. Couriers should also wear mask if they intend to interact with the public. So inconsiderate.

My post office has Covid19 rules in effect to protect workers and retail customers. There are signs up stating only 4 people in retail area at a time and masks must be worn by staff and customers. Not all USPS staff where masks and the customers that come in with no masks are not asked to put one on or leave. I counted 15 people in line one day. This is happening in Houston, Texas. They should close down if minimal protections aren’t followed. Houston has had a huge spike in infection rates. Protect yourself. Stay home. Better yet, get your mail prepaid and have USPS pick it up.

I ordered two hand tailored garments from Europe that shipped March 2. Since March 17th (it's Jun. 26th now) they've been at ISC USPS New York. I've submitted two lost package requests and both times USPS says there's nothing they can do, as the package hasn't been released to them. I contacted the shipper and they can't seem to find anything out either. What's most frustrating is how difficult it is to figure out who has it and who's responsible. Is it in customs, lost in the internation sorting facility, or on the way? Who can I ask to find out? I understand the pandemic is making everyone's lives terrible, but some communication goes a long way. I'm okay with waiting if I know it's moving, or at least not lost. But this is unreal.

I have the same problem and haven’t received my packages. My items are coming from India. At First I thought it was the country of origin and that USPS might not be allowing mail in from India. But it seems like all international mail is being held captive. My tracking says received into customs in Chicago. It’s been in transit for almost 2 months! No customer service to call, can’t even search the web for a decent explanation. If anyone has any info about this, please share. Amazon, Walmart, eBay etc..delivers right away and most of the stuff if not all comes from China, India or another country anyway. Why when ordering from independent companies are we getting 2,3,4 month delivery times with no information? I still have faith in USPS and they’re not responsible for this delay, but CUSTOMS is a different animal and they’re screwing with everyone!

I just had an item arrive a few days ago from India. It took a little under two weeks to get here. So why is my mail stuck here in America for months since march? Who can I contact if customs has released my package and USPS has a label and us waiting on it but seemingly doesn't have it? Who has it then!?

With mail delivery being the main resource for receiving goods during this time, and the Postal Service already struggling, you would think that they would take this time to show that they are reliable and capable. Instead, people wait weeks, sometimes even months, to get their items delivered. I understand that staffing is low due to medical leaves or people just quitting, but if we all decided to act as the USPS has acted, this country would have shut down completely. We are relying on them, and they are letting us down. If they fail and have to close up shop, it is due to their own inability to do the jobs they are needed to do. Don't get me wrong, there are exceptions to the failure where people are doing wonderful and going above and beyond. However, those instances seems to be few and far between. Packages were getting lost and damaged long before COVID. The system was full of cracks before, and with pressure is crumbling.

I have had the same problem. Right now I have 2 packages stuck in customs. I contacted USPS & the seller. I've filed a lost package & they claim there is nothing they can do. My one package has been stuck in customs for WEEKS & the 2nd package has been there a week so far. Now I realize that 2nd package should probably get comfortable because it isn't moving for a while. This is ridiculous. Why would packages be held this long in customs. Usually it takes 1 to 2 days to clear customs. Now it's MONTHS. Makes zero sense. Their job is "essential" so there hasn't been layoffs or furloughs. I can understand packages having a longer stay in customs because they're prioritizing other crucial supplies & maybe with new standards in place for health & safety things will slow down. BUT 1 to 2 days to 3 to 4 months plus is ridiculous.

I understand the Covid-19 is certainly affecting amount of workers showing up, etc. But now I have 2 letters with checks that have been lost in transit, another I had to reorder because even though it has a tracking number, it stopped at the distribution center and, I guess, was lost. And now I have two mailings, even one with extra stamps, that I am worried will get delivered. Will mailing with signature even help or has USPS completely gone to you know where? I use to think USPS was so reliable.

I ordered a bed for my dog in who's having surgery on 07/14 in late May, and the last update said it left San Francisco on 06/16 for transportation to USPS from Pitney Bowes. I have no idea why there's been no update since then, and I doubt I'll get it prior to his surgery. I was told 7-25 business days. Well, today is the 25th business day, and the status is the same. I expected international packages to take longer, but this is getting riduculous considering it's been sitting somewhere in the US since 06/16. The foreign country of origin doesn't seem to be the problem...the problem seems to be with USPS, as according to Pitney Bowes, USPS has the package. I could've driven to SF and back at least 30 times by now.

The USPS like many other government agencies are using the covid situation as an excuse for their poor performance. They suck and should all be fired. We have 3 packages a row sitting for months at points of entry in the US. I believe the postal employees are basically stealing the mail. What other plausible explanation is there?

I purchased some clothing on 4/29/20 from china. I still have not received the shipment but the company I purchased it from claims its on its way. They keep giving me invalid tracking numbers so I cant track it. Their web site claimed with the curent pandemic shipping time should be "approximately 27 days" after the package shipped. What is the current shipping time from China to Arizona for clothing? All I'm asking for is an approximate idea.

Odd... Refused? Asking for a record is a type of FOIA that is a reasonable request considering REGISTERED or RESTRICTED mail is the most protected and carefully documented every step of the way to the recipients hand, almost like a DIPLOMATIC way to say, GO USPS! I like this kind of protection! Smile ASL, Masks for COVID-19. Have a great USPS day!
