Bogus email art

In today’s world of package tracking and interconnectivity, an email from the U.S. Postal Service or even our Inspector General regarding mail delivery might seem legitimate.

That’s what the scammers want you to think. Unfortunately, some postal customers are getting bogus emails purporting to be from the Postal Service about an attempted or intercepted package delivery or online postage charges. These emails contain a link or attachment that, when opened, installs a malicious virus that can steal personal information from your personal computer.

If you receive a suspicious-looking email, do not click on the link or open the attachment. Like most viruses sent by email, doing so will activate a virus that can steal information — such as your user name, password, and financial account information. Simply delete the message without taking any further action.

And if you do receive an email that appears to be from the Postal Service and there is something that appears to be suspicious about it, you are welcome to report it to our Hotline.

I received the following email from delivery@uspsdelivery.com and since I am expecting a delivery I tried to open the attachment. I could not. Is there another way to check on delivery or if I need to collect a package at the PO? Thanks for your help. Greetings, Parcel delivery attempt fail notice on January 16, 2020 , 17:49 PM. The delivery attempt was unsuccessful because no one was present at the delivery address, so this notice has been automatically sent. You can arrange re-delivery by contacting us with your postage reference number on the attached eVoucher . In case the parcel is NOT scheduled for re-delivery in 14 days, it is going to be returned to the sender. Thank You. USPS Delivery digest

Has anyone actually received any help from this site? I've been on here for an hour trying to find out how in the hell I report a suspicious text regarding picking up a package. This is THE worst site. EVERY " Contact Us" link tells me to " Email or pick a subject. I choose email and it sends right back to the "Email or pick a subject" page. What if this were a real emergency? What if something extremely bad were to happen or HAD happened? Back to the point in hand, I have received a message via text saying I have a package and that I need to pick it up tomorrow because the Post Office will be closed for the holidays. I'm not sure how to proceed with this. Is there an email address I can send a screenshot too? Should I forward the text to an email address? Or should I just delete it. Waiting for your response. Thank you.

    > "And if you do receive an email that appears to be from the Postal Service and there is something that appears to be suspicious about it, you are welcome to report it to our Hotline." So tell us how to do this, and don't make it hard. Don 't link me to a complicated page with all sorts of options and pictures and promotional slogans. Just tell me what to do. A suspicious email: I've got one. But I'm not making a "complaint," I don't know if it's "fraud," I don't know if it's a "crime." I'm just saying it's SUSPICIOUS, as you suggested. I need an address where to forward it without opening it so YOU can figure out what it is--and maybe even tell me if it's legit. Sender: admin@noanswermail.us Thank you.
