Bogus email art

In today’s world of package tracking and interconnectivity, an email from the U.S. Postal Service or even our Inspector General regarding mail delivery might seem legitimate.

That’s what the scammers want you to think. Unfortunately, some postal customers are getting bogus emails purporting to be from the Postal Service about an attempted or intercepted package delivery or online postage charges. These emails contain a link or attachment that, when opened, installs a malicious virus that can steal personal information from your personal computer.

If you receive a suspicious-looking email, do not click on the link or open the attachment. Like most viruses sent by email, doing so will activate a virus that can steal information — such as your user name, password, and financial account information. Simply delete the message without taking any further action.

And if you do receive an email that appears to be from the Postal Service and there is something that appears to be suspicious about it, you are welcome to report it to our Hotline.

I received a "bill" in the mail from Simple Domain Host in Miami, FL. I do not have an account with them, but this fake bill has an alleged account number with $180 due. Upon further reading, it's a solicitation to use their service. The BBB has them listed with an "F" rating, and 16 complaints. What can I do to report them to the postal service since they are using it to send these fake bills? Thank you.

I am so sick of the elderly being preyed upon. we deliver mail that says "your social security is going to stop" and other pieces of standard mail that upset them. NOW they are getting emails stating that a package is trying to get delivered. We had several women come down in snow-storm crying because they got letters stating that by 2pm they needed to send a letter confirming their "winnings". They were crying because the mail came at 245pm and they couldnt meet the time requirement. I end up going through their mail with them because they want to KNOW what "is important mail" and what is junk. Its so sad. One lady got a giant check from her dead husbands settlement and wanted ME to deposit for her because she lives alone and doesnt drive. I had to knock on doors until I found someone who knew her and would call a family member to help her.
