The global pandemic of COVID-19 has impacted our country in ways that were unimaginable months ago. It is changing how people across the U.S. and around the world are working, shopping, even interacting with one another. States have ordered many stores and businesses to close. Businesses that continue to operate are faced with protecting their employees and customers, while coming up with creative ways to market and deliver their products.

The Postal Service continues to serve the public, operating on the front line, fulfilling the universal service obligation to deliver to every house and business every day. USPS is finding itself serving a population that is relying on it now more than ever. For many home-bound and quarantined people, home delivery is the only source for medicine and other vital supplies. During this time, the Postal Service has also prioritized the safety of its employees and customers.

We recognize the reality of the pandemic and have adapted our operations to maintain continuity while ensuring the safety of our employees. We are taking abundant care to minimize exposure to both our employees and Postal Service employees, using technology whenever possible. As we have told our employees, we also ask you to follow CDC guidelines, remain home as much as possible, and stay safe.

For questions or concerns about delivery during the pandemic, please go to usps.com to track mail or get information from the USPS Coronavirus FAQs page.

Postal Service employees, for work-related complaints or issues, please use our Hotline to let us know.

hi i had a parcel sent from the united kingdom on july 2 it arrived here in the united states fast but now it has been processed on july 5th in isc chicago and it has not updated at all! The last update was on july 5th today is july 13th ! why has it been processed in isc chicago 8 days ago and yet I still have not even had a new update? I think that it is pretty unprofessional to not at least scan it again so that I know that my package is safe! Is this normal right now for a parcel to take 8 days so far at isc chicago?

Same here. It is a package from China. Tracking said it went to Jamaica, NY and now at O'Hare in Chicago for 3 days. I live in Missouri. I did get a USPS tracking number but all it says is: Merchant Order Receipt Notification, USPS Awaiting Item. I am very confused.

I ordered 2 vanities from China which stated it is sent from the United states. I received my so called package on july 10th 2020. How was I to know that my package was a very small package, not 2 vanities it was a dreadlock hair piece which I didn't order but the package stated it was a scarf no scarf. Track this package many times always was on the way. I wasn't so upset about the money of course that's a concern, but the was for my great granddaughters May 8th was the oldest (7) and the youngest Turning (6) on the 23rd of July. It's been so long ago I saved all transactions to my phone checked it all was well until I snap shot the info, then tried and it was error, can't open file went to clip board it was 404 error. I still have everything recorded. Got invoice thanking me for purchasing the vanities now can't open file. What a RIP off no trace of it.

Hi, I mailed 4 packages in May. -One package to the UK on May 5 arrived by May 11. This was fast. -Two packages mailed on May 5 which say “forwarded abroad” to Austria (from Miami) on May 9. No update since then. -The last package “ready for international transport” to Austria (from Miami) on May 26. No update since then. I was just wondering if perhaps packages to central and Eastern Europe have gone by boat? Since it has been over two months without an update, I just wanted to check if my theory that they are on a boat is possible. Usually my packages arrive quickly and have never lost one or had a delay, so I assume all three have gone via ship because it’s unlikely those three would be lost. I understand Covid has changed some of the routes and times but would like to at least know if USPS are using sea transport and how long it takes.

We got it, and understand the current excuse for ISC Miami, FL untimely delays for processing mail. But there is BC (before CV 19) and AC (after CV 19) and nothing has really changed, it's the same untimely service. I would appreciate knowing what causes week long delays? The US Post Office is an amazing organization with service second to none. So I can help wondering WHATS UP with ISC service? Thank you, and wishing All health a safety for now and always.

I live in MA and in my experience in the last 3 months of Covid things slowed down for understandable reasons. We all know what`s going on, so I am no surprised and do not complain about it. But I noticed that everything that transit thru PA falls in a black hole and delayed an extra 4 to 5 days at least (1 items 2 weeks delay) Philly or Pittsburgh the main problems. I did not have any of these extra delays with packages not transiting thru PA. So for me Pennsylvania has clearly some severe organisational issues that go way beyond the current pandemic. Hope USPS will deal with PA because so far has been a real bottleneck in the East Coast.

I’ve been waiting for a package that was dropped at the Lancaster, PA location on May 24 and it’s been stuck “in transit” ever since that day and another has been stuck “in transit” at the very same location since June 29.

Here is my question. I sent two first-class packages to Canada, and the destination is Western Canada. Now I have the tracking numbers, and the first one was shipped on June 9, 2020. The last update was June 13. I live in NY, and I know the package is going to get to JFK and get on a plane. The June 13 update says in transit to the next facility. I know there are times packages do not get scanned. I asked at my post office, and they know me. They are seeing the same thing I am seeing. Are packages going to Canada being held because of COVID, or that there is a shortage of aircraft to get packages out the country to Canada?

I had my car illegally repossessed by Hyundai. I was waiting for a certified letter to come. I found the letter dirty and deposited in my mailbox with no green signature card attached. My letter was not signed for by me. When I went to complain and wanted to see who signed for it, I was given the runaround. The clerk went in the back of the office and came back over 5 minutes later with a copy of my tracking info and a copy of what was supposed to be the signed card used at delivery. The clerk then said the card was signed for by my mail carrier and that is how it is done due to Covid. My time sensitive certified letter was a week late and I never signed for it. My car is now at Auction.

Our carrier out of the main post office in Fort Lauderdale does not wear a mask, even though it is now mandatory for everyone in public-inside or out, even if you're just walking in your neighborhood- to wear a facial covering. We and other neighbors have complained repeatedly to the managing supervisor of the office, and he refuses to even acknowledge emails and phone calls. This is the same carrier who has skipped delivery for our entire neighborhood 17 days in the last 9 weeks....another problem that the manager won't acknowledge or address.

    Jul 08, 2020
  • anon

I find the above statement is not correct there are different locations that the carrier temperature is not taken before duty at the site and these workets are not considered to be called Hazardous workers the. Federal Laws are not right

I ordered face masks back in May. They show that they've been sitting in transit in California for over a month now. I've been checking every day. This is ridiculous! The pandemic is going to be over before I even get them. :/

California? Not surprising. In Hawthorne, CA. the entire office has been closed since July 23rd because someone there had COVID. Meanwhile the entire city of Hawthorne's mail is being held hostage there because, apparently, the postal workers think COVID-19 is dripping from the walls. Just down the street is a large grocery store where I work some days as an outside merchandiser that had an employee who contracted the virus and they've been opened for business the entire time! People who deal with food everyday can still work amid the pandemic even after one of their employees got it, but not the "die-hard" "We pride ourselves on delivering where others won't!" Post Office! It's absolutely ridiculous! All the Post Office jokes are well-deserved! I continue getting notices in my tiny P.O. box that my packages have arrived yet nobody is there to give them to me even though there are self-service lockers where I can get them without having to have someone at a window retrieve them for me. Yes, the pandemic is a life and death situation but apparently peoples' access to their possibly life-saving parcels are secondary to panicky employees doing their job. Apparently postal workers in Hawthorne feel they're at some higher risk than mere grocery store workers who handle food every day. Take a bow, USPS! My packages got delivered but I may never see them and may possibly become unemployed because of the little princesses at the Hawthorne, CA. office.

Yeah I am right there with you. My face masks did you a delivery date of sometime in June. It the adjusted to July and now September lol. I don’t want a “second wave?” But dang, I hope my purchase wasn’t a waste..

Crazy to believe that I have not ONE issue with package from the likes of Russia , China, Korea, even Italy when the carrier is Fedex or any other privately run postal service YET the US Gov run Usps has now delayed for two MONTHS, lost or damaged nearly 50% of shipments. Crazy. Two months? Cant get items out of ICS cause there are no workers? Then its time to close down unfortunately, pandemic or no pandeMic. This is about responsibility of obligation....a duty to fulfill the one asset usps should proudly have at all times. Fulfillment of shipping...and waiting two months 2 MONTHS and still no update or availabiLity of customer representative or any way to c9mmunicate with usps besides the wraparound, computerized generic responses shows a lack of proper management, leadership and a a very faulty system.

Tracking shows my package was mailed from France on April 30th where it was then held until May 29th. It then arrived ia few days later at ISC New York on June 3rd and it hasnt moved since. Today is July 6th. That is a 2 month wait. That is UNACCEPTABLE. A package does not need to be quarantined for covid that long based on your own website guidance for package handling and this is a small registered package not a washing machine! I am now forced to file a credit card chargeback since im being told there is nothing I can do but wait and I am beyond the delivery/damage protections with ebay/paypal with no idea of how long a wait this will be if it gets delivered at all. Someone needs to do a overhaul review of this department.

Im in the same position! I ordered 2 jerseys from china on 4/17 and its the 13th now of july! The crazy part is they dont even let you know whats going on....they just tell u to be patient and to track your pack. But the tracker doesnt tell you anything either. ITS BEEN 3 MONTHS! If its going through usps I will never order online AGAIN!

I order my customized "save the dates" from a company in Russia and the package has not moved since June 12 from customs. It's supposed to be delivered July 23rd. Don't think it's gonna happen!

Oh my goodness! If you’ve been waiting since April 30, I can only imagine how long my packages from Australia that were mailed in early June will take. I wish the USPS website would have been more forthcoming about the actual delivery time of international packages during Covid. Had I known this, I wouldn’t have made the purchases. Mine are all waiting in customs, as well. Like you, I expected some reasonable delay, but 3+ months is absolutely inexcusable & completely incompetent. How disappointing!

Shipped multiple packages from US to Europe with international express (all packages 40lbs+)....ALL delayed by months...Finding out TODAY that the packages were re-routed by Ship/SEA and no one ever told me that at the post office when I was dropping them off, keep people and your staff informed USPS....we get it, it will take longer...just communicate that to your customers when packages are being dropped off at the post offices!

Ever since February, every package, whether it's priority, express, first class, or certified, has been lost or delayed in some way. I can never get answers from anyone. My local post office won't help. I need this mail because COVID makes it impossible to do things in person where I live.

I am tired of the complaints and down grading of the USPS. Additionally the constant whining the USPS is broke and the Fed budget will have to save it. The PO never was, is not, and unless rules regarding it, the PO is doing fine thank you. If only the Fed Gov will follow their own different, the PO not required to put retiree funds before that person is born, or hired. Perhaps the Fed Gov can pay back "borrowed" money when the budget was short. A private company would have cut off non profitable (rural?) routes years ago. And now with the virus keeping us at home, getting drugs in the mail is one example how much we take the PO for granted. Then again, they are largest employer of military veterans, as well as my grandfather, father, bro-in-law and extended family members. Before the PO began micro-managing carriers, when starting his route Dad took letters from 'Nam to the waiting families to hear something. Yes, volume has decreased but the importance and value of our mail carriers cannot be more valuable.

Most people are not complaining about carriers. We are complaining about Customs holding our packages for an indeterminate amount of time with no way to get a resolution beyond being told to wait due to covid. I'm getting international packages I ordered 3 weeks ago. Where are my packages from 2 months ago!? They should be prioritizing these packages!

    Jul 06, 2020

Germany shipped it on May 11th to America via Chicago ISC it got there on May 20th, 2020. On July 1 the messaged change from being processed through to Card created not in the system yet. I like the Post office and we need more than ever. My problem was Customs though. But wrong is wrong! There should be a ready to send form answer to send to a customer from Customs on why my Package was held up, put on hold or delayed.

I have been waiting for packages over seas for a few months. Why can I not find proper answers as to where did they go? Covid 19 has messed up all of us. If we all behaved like the USPS. We all would be dead already. I simply want to know how long of a wait. Not a made up one. Simple truth please.
