The global pandemic of COVID-19 has impacted our country in ways that were unimaginable months ago. It is changing how people across the U.S. and around the world are working, shopping, even interacting with one another. States have ordered many stores and businesses to close. Businesses that continue to operate are faced with protecting their employees and customers, while coming up with creative ways to market and deliver their products.

The Postal Service continues to serve the public, operating on the front line, fulfilling the universal service obligation to deliver to every house and business every day. USPS is finding itself serving a population that is relying on it now more than ever. For many home-bound and quarantined people, home delivery is the only source for medicine and other vital supplies. During this time, the Postal Service has also prioritized the safety of its employees and customers.

We recognize the reality of the pandemic and have adapted our operations to maintain continuity while ensuring the safety of our employees. We are taking abundant care to minimize exposure to both our employees and Postal Service employees, using technology whenever possible. As we have told our employees, we also ask you to follow CDC guidelines, remain home as much as possible, and stay safe.

For questions or concerns about delivery during the pandemic, please go to usps.com to track mail or get information from the USPS Coronavirus FAQs page.

Postal Service employees, for work-related complaints or issues, please use our Hotline to let us know.

Hey, did you eventually get your package or at least got an update other than "in transit to next facility" ?

I’ve been waiting over 3 weeks for a parcel that was processed through the ISC Chicago and then nothing...3 actual weeks. What is going on in Chicago ISC???

Apparently, the same thing that is happening at ISC Los Angeles: nothing! I have two incoming packages from Australia that have pretty much fell into a black hole there since August 4th. I called 1-800-ASK-USPS twice and they've been no help saying "ISC is Customs, not USPS". Surely, customs processing can't be experiencing a 4+ week backup...right?!

I sent two packages on July 5th and they have been stuck/lost at Los Angeles airport distribution center. I have tried to call and talk to someone about this but the automated system will not allow that. I’m understand with COVID that things may take longer but why offer priority shipping..? If someone would so kindly reach out and offer insight if the package is most likely lost or if this is just the new pace of sending a package in North America.

Hi, Any updates on your package, I had 2 packages coming in from LA as well, one arrived on Aug 11th and another that has been stuck since Aug 5th in LA distribution center with no updates whatsoever, I hope its not lost but i keep checking everyday and nothing other than "In Transit" which basically means nothing

The USA is no longer a first world nation. The standard of the postal service have fallen to abysmal levels. Its literally a %50 shot that I'll receive anything correctly anymore and that was pre-covid

I ordered airsoft parts online from the states (I'm Canadian) on July 12 and selected USPS Priority and its been a month now. For 3 weeks my package has read "in transit" after being in a Chicago Intl Distribution Center. I want my stuff! When trying to make an inquiry it wont even let me select the date I ordered it on because it was a Sunday. This system is flawed and Covid-19 isn't an excuse to fail.

My business uses USPS delivery every day and until recently I haven't had many problems, but low and behold now that our President is complaining of mail fraud possibilities and our Inspector General is a Trump support my mail is being delayed and lost almost on a daily basis. Please help resolve this issue! I understand there is a pandemic, but mail was traveling fine until recently!

i shipped out a package at the beginning of July and it is currently sitting at the LA ISC. I haven't gotten an update in almost a month. All it has said for the past three weeks is "Your item was processed through our LOS ANGELES CA INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER facility on July 26, 2020 at 7:09 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination." Package is heading to Canada and customer is getting antsy. There is no ETA and all i got out of calling customer service was that they have to wait for a plane. JUST SOME INSIGHT OR AN ETA WOULD BE GREAT THANK YOU! also- i appreciate every usps worker that is working through this pandemic. <3

I’m literally in the same Boat! Sent a package on July 5th from Phoenix Arizona arrive in LA on the 7th and still hasn’t moved in over a month...this is a little crazy! If you under promise and over deliver customers won’t be mad but to say shipping times will only change by a few days is an absolute lie. I feel your pain! Thank you Trump for putting a new head of USPS that clearly has conflicting interest to the well-being of the company because he is invested in competitors. Thank you for cutting workers and any overtime pay to address the serious influx of mail due to covid and delaying everything. I am glad the USPS which is an American Institution is being misappropriated for grossly unethical means.

The postal service has always been a joke as it relates to efficiency. Blaming trump is beyond stupid, I would hope as Americans we would decouple from China and get rid of globalism. How putting America first is anything but patriotic is beyond me. I can see that trump is a narcissist but that doesn't mean he hasn't done a great job putting Americans first.

It is clearly Trump’s fault. You’re misinformed or delusional if you don’t see it. Don’t worry though. I’ve lost faith in this country and I’m sure he’ll be re-elected. Enjoy paying $20 minimum for shipping once Trump kills USPS and we have to rely on private companies like UPS and FedEx.

My international package shipped on May, okay, I wait almost 2 months to get it updated of arrived at New York. But since the package arrived on July 5th, no further updates anymore!!! What the heck the customs are doing? I understand the COVID-19 pandemic due to the package delay, but for over a month with no update?! I hand another package arrived on July 7 and it came out from custom just one day after, and this package for over a month?! This is ridiculous!!

I live in Vero Beach Florida and my mail carrier does not wear a mask. I find this alarming as I suffer from an auto immune disorder that could be a death sentence if I were to contract Covid -19. In fact my entire community is at risk from this careless woman. Is there anything that can be done to convince carriers of the danger they pose to others as well as to themselves and their families, by the contact they have with every household on their route?

    Aug 05, 2020
  • anon

I'm confused as to how you believe a "mail carrier" has "contact" with the "households on their route?" Is it your belief that these wiley-coyote wascally wabbit germs jump from their face and deposit themselves on your front doorframes as they briskly walk past depositing mail? Malevolently waiting for some unsuspecting victim, timing their germy selves so they can jump from the doorpost to straight-down-your-throat? I'm sold! Fire that moron at once! The ignorance of the general public seems to grow hand-in-hand with this ridiculous virus, itself! FUN FACT: The BLACK PLAGUE was an ACTUAL pandemic. Survival rates for the populus as a whole was 1 out of 2. (That's 50%... Flip a coin...) Not umteenthousand to one!

It seems like thousands of people across the nation are experiencing late packages woth no update on tracking. For the majority of us the last status was "in transit, arriving late". I personally have 2 priority packages that were sent from the same city 2 weeks ago. Never arrived. Nobody responds to emails or calls. Local post says its the sender local posts problem. What in the heck is going on with the USPS?

There was never any system set up to report a delay. At each step when a scan is made that is the report that it is going to the next step. So stations receive a piece and scan a manifest which says it is there. Now it hits a back log because 50% staffs due to quarantines coinciding with vacation season and we just can't get to it. So the next scan comes, 5 days later in my zone, when we rotate to that pile and it goes out for delivery that day. Now when we are out there approaching the 12th hour of the day when we are not supposed to be working past 12, or perhaps 8 hours in the near future and we bring stuff back we are left with an unscanned piece. Due to our dysfunctional zero defect culture then comes the scan with the false reason for non delivery because we have no way to scan and say we just ran out of man hours and truck space.

I have had two packages sent to me--sender re-sent because the first one is just sitting in Detroit. Now the second one is sitting in Detroit too! Sender has felt responsible and gave me a refund. What is going on? This is absolutely ridiculous and has just started in the last few weeks.

Since the covid panic began in March, suddenly packages from Amazon are getting lost. This used to rarely happen with Amazon Prime shipping. Are postal workers so angry they are giving package away to wrong address? Or throwing them away? What the heck is really going on? And do NOT blame Trump because if one does there research they will see that USPS has been in big trouble way before he was elected!

You are the one that clearly needs to do their research. The USPS was made to fully fund their pension into the future...which means they have to have money for employees not even hired yet. This is a requirement no other business has, public or private and is purposefully making the USPS show negative on paper. They are very profitable otherwise.

Postal Employees send be tested everyday! The Covid-19 cleaning procedures after an identified confirmed COVID-19 case is useless as the COVID-19 response kits are not being used! Lack of communication about confirmed cases between District Management, Local Management, and the Local Unions has to be improve are it will leave USPS employees in danger meanwhile District, Area, and HQ USPS work from home via ZOOM!

Given the potential for asymptomatic transmission of SARS-CoV-2, HCP providing in-person care to patients not suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 should follow recommended infection control practices to prevent transmission of infectious agents and infection control practices specific to COVID-19. CDC has provided specific considerations for care of patients not suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 when there are moderate or substantial levels of community transmission.

My complaint is my billing mail that I mailed out to Companies I owe money to this new month of August...My Bill's have not reached there destinations in timely manner. Is this due to Post office employees not taking this killing virus seriously? Or is someone at the Nashville ( Central ), Post Office that distributes the mail ...Throwing my mailings away ...My mortgage payment usually reaches its destination in 4 to 6 days My electric Bill usually in 1 to 2 days it has not. Despite what our leaders say about this deadly virus...Post Office employees need to keep yourselves safe . Am concerned my monthly payments to companies I owe money to..Aren't reaching these destinations in timely manner. Concerned Mr Doak Resident of Smyrna Tennessee

I'm more concerned with why you are still using snail mail to pay your bills and then complaining about it. You see, theres this thing that 99% of humans use called the internet. It allows you to pay your bills instantly by clicking a couple buttons.

Yeah, I’m getting ready to start a new business. You’d better believe that I’m going to be emailing out as many invoices as possible, as well as offering a pay online option. It recently took a package 25 days to arrive at my house from ISC. No tracking updates until the package was out for delivery, coming to my house that day. Didn’t even say it went through customs, etc. That’s just inexcusable. I don’t know who is to blame. Everyone wants to blame Trump for everything. That’s just typical of many people. I don’t know who/what to blame. Our small town USPS workers are great. Apparently, they don’t represent the average employee. I’ll be avoiding the USPS if at all possible. I’m not required to ship goods in my business. Thank goodness! Will be sending invoices online and bypassing the darn post office! (I hate getting paper bills anyway).

My regular postal carrier and even the substitute for Saturday is not wearing her (both women) mask ~ ever ~ while delivering mail right to our doors and even sometimes handing me a small package when she knows I'm home. I am extremely concerned about this especially since the mailboxes are very close to my apartment. I live in Austin Texas and my zip code is 78757.

NOT YET RECEIVED INTERNATIONAL PACKAGE- I am still waiting to receive my package mailed from The Netherlands on May 14th. After the mailing date, I got no information via the USPS tracking site and it seemed as though there was no movement at all after the package was mailed!! Suddenly, on July 21st USPS tracking said Inbound out of customs and then it arrived at the Chicago ISC distribution center. Then a few days later it said "Your package is moving within USPS network and on track to be delivered to the final destination. It is in transit to the next facility" This was on July 25th. Again, no movement after that till date. 10 weeks after the package was mailed, I still haven't received it. This is super frustrating to have to wait at every step with no proper updates! When I called USPS, I get conflicting answers. One agent said possibly an address problem so it can't be delivered!!!? How is that even possible when I have regularly receive packages from this sender to the same address without any issues?! Another agent said due to COVID-19, delays are bound to happen and now I have to wait patiently to receive it but can give NO ETA. Basically, there's no clear information and I am being asked to wait with NO END in sight! Can someone help fix this problem so that I can get my package delivered as soon as possible? Thank you!

I am in the same boat, but in November. My package was shipped from The Netherlands November 5, and was "processed through facility ISC San Francisco" November 10. Since then, nothing. Exactly same problem. Since arriving at Chicago usps distribution center on july 21, no updates except that it is in transit to the next facility as of July 25. What a crock. Local usps office says it is going to a second customs office in a different city. Why does it have to go through customs twice? I don't believe they're telling the truth.

    Aug 07, 2020

I buy quite a bit internationally and am frustrated and wondering what the issue is too. At first I thought it was a delay outside the use but I looked up the all the shipping history. Most packages arrive to the states in 3-10 days. Once in the hands of USPS they spend 2-4 weeks at each USPS facility. Each package normally goes threw 3 facilities a shipment.

    Aug 07, 2020

having the exact same issue. Item shipped from Russia 4/20, finally made it into US July 1st, left Chicago July 13th and since then it has said In transit to the next facility. Absolutely no movement. so frustrating
