We’re back! The partial government shutdown has ended, and the OIG is back in business. Our website, Hotline, blog, and all our social media activities are up and running, and we’re anxious to hear from you.

You may have wondered why we were furloughed but the Postal Service was not.

The Postal Service’s operations are funded from the sale of postage and fees. Hence, it was fully operational during the shutdown.

But the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006 established the USPS Office of Inspector General as a separately funded entity, for which Congress must, each year, appropriate funds. So, even though the Postal Service was funded and operating, we had to shut down due to the lapse in appropriations.

Next week we will continue with our weekly blog – keep an eye out for our top 10 postal stories of 2018.

Click N Ship, I'm in Iraq at a Consulate, there is no post office but with Click N Ship, I can send mail home. I have a very important legal document that I have to mail out, but...Click N Ship is not letting me pay for the label. I thought it was just because of where I am, but my wife tried from the states and she couldn't get to pay either. i looked through your blog and it appears that this has been a problem for at least two years. If you can't provide the service, why leave the site up? I understand that it cost money to fix something like this but you have to understand how frustrating it is to not be able to send a legal document home, even calling customer service provided ZERO answers, the clerks in the States told my wife it was because of the hurricane, your computer system knew of the hurricane two days before it got to the Bahamas??? Please, shut the site down if it doesn't work or fix it.

Your CAPTCHA is not working or I am blind. It hard filing anything with your office. Your station manager at Wagner talks to employees like they a tail and that is one of the things that causes shootings on the job. He drives around in the company car talking on his cell phone looking like a dope dealer and that is against the law.

The real problem with carriers constantly lying about delivery is that the customers have no recourse when they do not receive their package. You can't get your money back because tracking says...
